Screw My Childhood Sweetheart His Alpha Brother Marked Me First novel Chapter 32

Only she was glaring daggers at me. Crap. I didn’t need someone else on the I hate Senna squad.

Hey, Picasso. How about today for our date?Anson shouted from his group.

All of the guys around me froze. Knox turned slowly towards Anson. What did you just say?

Those words were definitely a growl.

Anson pushed off his Range Rover. I’m taking Senna for a burger. He sent me a wink.

I rolled my eyes. It’s not a date. More like a lost bet.

She can’t today,Caspian gritted out. We have that project for history we need to start on.

The project wasn’t due until midterm, so I wasn’t sure we needed to start on it today, but I wasn’t going to get in the middle of

some weird pissing contest.

She can’t any day,River said under his breath.

I smacked his stomach. How about tomorrow, Anson? No one got to control who I was friends with, and I had a feeling

Anson needed a friend. A real one, not these fake hangerson he was usually with.

We have plans tomorrow, Anson,Sadie called.

Anson rolled his eyes. We do not.

You said you’d help me move the furniture in my bedroom. I asked you at lunch yesterday.

I don’t know what you said at lunch yesterday. You were yammering on like an annoying woodpecker. I would’ve said

anything to shut you up.

Her mouth snapped closed.

Anson,I whispered. I didn’t care that Sadie was a bitch; no one deserved to be talked to that way.

His gaze cut to me. What? It’s the truth.

I shook my head and started for the front doors. They could all drown in their drama together.

I snuck into one of the bathroom stalls in the locker room, hanging my gym bag on the hook. Plenty of girls changed by their lockers, but I’d seen one too many teen horror movies. There was always a chance some mean girl would take the opportunity to snap a photo. No, thank you.

I changed from my jeans and Tshirt into shorts and a tank. The teacher had told us we were going to play volleyball today. I sent out mental apologies to whichever team I was on. I had some giftsdrawing, languages, listening. Team sports was not one of them.

Chapter 32

I always dove for the ball at the wrong time or aimed in the wrong direction. When I was ten and Dad had signed me up for soccer, I’d been so proud when I’d made my first goal. Until I realized it was on our own goalie.

I groaned at the memory as I stuffed my school clothes into the bag. At least gym was only a couple of times a week. Maybe I could hide in the back of the group, and I wouldn’t even get called on to play.

Opening the door, I moved to my locker and shoved the gym bag inside. There were only a couple of girls left in the room, and I should’ve hustled but I still dragged my feet. By the time I reached the gym, the teacher was blowing his whistle.

All right, circle up. We’ve got two courts. I’ll be breaking you into four teams. You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to get an A in this class, but I do expect you to try. No lazing about. He eyed a girl who was in Sadie’s little crew.

I had a sprained ankle, Coach,she whined.

All semester?

Her face flushed. My doctor didn’t want to risk it.

Coach snorted and proceeded to break us into the groups. I fought a groan when he put me on a team with Anson and Jasmine. They were the only people I knew in the whole class, and I would’ve chosen any other team but this one.

Anson crossed to me, a wicked smile on his face. He bumped my shoulder with his. Hey, teammate.
