Chapter 116
Fiona listened to her parents’ nagging and dug her pinky in her ear. She said, “Mom, Dad, stop worrying about Evander and me. You can’t even handle your own problems.”
Serena’s voice rose. “You spoiled child! We raised you with too much freedom, and now you’ve invited an entire table of ex-boyfriends and admirers. You have no sense of boundaries!”
Fiona shot back, “You’re the ones who love setting me up. I just brought them all together so you could pick and choose whoever you wanted. Now you’re mad about it?”
Fiona didn’t seem bothered at all by their anger.
Serena grabbed a throw pillow and hurled it at her.
She snapped, “Shut your mouth! You have two kids and you’re still out there dating. We’re not worried about you ending up lonely. But Callum can’t stay single forever. Frank, start looking for suitable girls for him. Evander’s already making moves, and Callum can’t wait until he’s thay old.”

Frank nodded eagerly. “No problem. There are plenty of great girls out there. I’ll set him up with three tomorrow!
Frank and Serena dove into their discussion with
enthusiasm, but Fiona looked completely uninterested and waved them off.
She said, “You two should get some sleep. I’m heading
out.”
She walked straight toward the door in her bare feet.
Her room and the kids’ rooms were in the guest house, just past the grove.
At the entryway, Fiona ran into Callum coming in.
She paused for just a second, but didn’t even greet him. She shoved past his shoulder without a word and walked away like she owned the place.
Serena called after her, “Your shoes! Put your shoes on! This girl is so stubborn. Callum, don’t take it personally.”
Callum replied, “I won’t.”

His tone was calm and completely neutral, with no hint of emotion.
He continued, “Mom, Dad, all the guests have left and the banquet hall has been cleared out. You should get some rest.”
Steven said, “Alright, you go rest too. You’ve had a long day.”
Callum nodded and bent down to pick up the shoes scattered across the floor.
One lay near the entryway, and the other sat by the coffee
table.
He picked them both up patiently.
The black lambskin heels with red soles suited her
perfectly. Callum announced, “I’ll take these over to her.”
Frank and Serena watched him leave and let out helpless. sighs.
Frank wondered aloud, “What’s going on with Fiona and

Callum? They won’t even talk to each other.”
Serena shook her head and said, “If this keeps up, they’re gonna end up fighting. What are we supposed to do?”
Callum walked along the stone path that wound through the trees.
This route led straight to the guest house, and Fiona always preferred walking this way.
He hooked the shoes on his fingers and walked with calm, steady steps.
Then a pair of hands wrapped around his waist from behind.
Callum stopped.
A voice like honey poured over him, sweet and intoxicating, as she murmured, “Mom and Dad said they’re setting you up on a blind date tomorrow.”
The beautiful woman in the red dress pressed against his back and rested her chin on his shoulder.

Her fingers danced playfully across his striped shirt, tracing light patterns.
Fiona’s voice turned soft and teasing, with a hint of alcohol warming her words, as she asked, “Are you
excited?”
Callum wasn’t surprised. He stood there with his hands. hanging loosely at his sides, his expression unchanged.
He stared straight ahead, and his face revealed nothing.
He didn’t stop her.
Fiona walked up to him and draped her arms around his neck, studying Callum with amused interest.
She rose on her toes and leaned in to kiss his lips.
Callum turned his head slightly, and her kiss missed, landing on his cheek instead.
Fiona laughed softly and pressed her fingertips against his lips, dragging them slowly downward.
She smirked, “Seems like you want it though, huh?”

She smiled in satisfaction and released Callum, then asked with mock seriousness, “So, did you see any guys you liked at table two today? Help me pick a husband, would you? I’ll return the favor next time, deal?”
Her voice was sweet and seductive, carrying the faint scent of alcohol on her breath.
Before Callum could answer, she turned and walked
ahead on her own.
Her pedicured toes touched the stone path, and her red dress swayed enticingly in the moonlight, captivating and alluring.
Callum grabbed her heels and followed her.
His long legs carried him forward quickly, and he caught up to Fiona in a few strides.
His hand shot out and grabbed Fiona’s wrist, then he pressed her firmly against a pillar.
He kissed her hard, and their mouths tangled together hungrily.

The scent of red wine and vodka mixed between them as the kiss grew urgent and consuming, and they both lost themselves in it.
When they finally broke apart for air, he lifted his gaze and spoke in a low voice. “No.”
The calm and composed Callum had torn away his mask to reveal this wild, possessive side of himself.
Fiona laughed and jumped up, wrapping her legs around
him.
Callum held her shoes in one hand and supported her
with the other.
Fiona leaned down, cupped his face in her hands, and kissed him again.
They kissed their way from the garden all the way to the
bedroom.
