Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 239

Sean had easily evoked her sexual desire. Now, she was even anticipating it.

She wasn't sure if it was because her psychological trauma had unknowingly healed over time or if Sean's dominant presence healed her in some way, rendering her unable to resist.

Blushing, Angeline tucked her hair behind her ear and picked up her handbag and Simon's suit from the floor. She recalled Sean's gloomy expression when he was on the phone when she entered the house.

She wasn't entirely sure if he was jealous.

Undoubtedly, they would have to face immense pressure and trouble in the future if she chose to be with him.

After all, Sean was an adopted son of the Lawson family. Even if he were to leave the Lawson family, there's no denying he had been a part of them.

She had feelings for him but wasn't confident that she could face future challenges and pressures, nor did she know if she dared to go against Robert.

After taking a shower, she tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. She wondered if Sean planned to sleep in the guest room tonight.

She pulled back the covers to go to the kitchen for some water. When she opened the door, she was startled to find Sean standing outside with a damp towel around his neck and wet hair.

"Did Linda, Ingrid's manager, hire someone to harm you?" he asked, appearing to have just hung up a call since the light from his phone screen was still on.

Angeline nodded and explained, "I didn't want to tell you to avoid worrying you."

"Are you hurt?" he asked, pulling her out of the dim bedroom and onto the sofa to inspect her.

"I'm fine. Not a single hair was harmed," she replied as she accepted his examination.

"I noticed someone was watching me as soon as I went downstairs, so I had Danny call someone over. They beat up the people following me and sent them to the police station. By the way, one of the trending topics today is the news of Linda's arrest."

After confirming that she was indeed unharmed, Sean sat on the coffee table with a furrowed brow. His long, stern eyes stared at her without saying a word, his thoughts unclear.
