The news reported that Linda, who was detained for attempted murder, was knocked unconscious in the detention center and urgently sent to the hospital.
After rinsing her mouth, Angeline leaned against the washstand and scrolled through the photos.
"What's going on? Medical parole?" she mumbled to herself, raising an eyebrow.
She called Danny and asked, "Was Linda released for medical treatment?"
"No. I just got off the phone with the lawyer. She was genuinely beaten up inside! I heard it was someone who was locked up with her. That person found out she had instructed someone to film another woman being raped, so they beat her half to death!"
Danny couldn't hide his satisfaction as he continued, "I guess what goes around comes around for the wicked."
"Oh…" she responded.
When Angeline heard a call waiting tone, she glanced at her phone to find herself looking at an unfamiliar number.
Ignoring it, she continued, "I forgot to ask you yesterday. How much time did you give Ned?"
"I gave him a week."
"Tommy can be sent in now."
As she spoke, a call came in again from the same unknown number.
She said to Danny, "I'll hang up now. There's another call waiting."
"I really want to help with Ned's situation, but… didn't you meet with Simon last night? I can't do anything now," said Ingrid, choking up.
"Linda has been helping me since I debuted! All I can do for her now is to come to you for help. Please, Angie. After all… you weren't hurt, but Linda has a brain bleed now. She's just out of surgery and still in critical condition."
Angeline rebutted, "Ingrid, have you ever thought about the consequences for me if I hadn't been lucky enough to discover someone following me last night? Perhaps Linda would be using the video of me being gang raped to threaten me while I'm lying in the hospital!
"It was my luck that I discovered the person following me beforehand and avoided trouble. Linda was out there, determined to harm me."
Angeline calmly poured more water into her glass and added, "Instead of pleading with me, why don't you find a good lawyer for Linda? I will definitely pursue the maximum penalty in court."
After saying that, she hung up the phone and blocked the number. She finished her water and glanced at the guest room, wondering if Sean had gotten up.
