Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 246

Angeline's smile slowly faded.

"You're an interesting person, Mr. Fletcher. Ingrid isn't the one going to jail. Why are you so anxious about this? Fletcher Corporation is already in chaos, yet you're still going to waste your time on someone so insignificant.

"Do you think everything will be fine just because you have the Steeles helping you? Shouldn't you be trying your best to buy Vitality Biotech's prescription back?"

Ned's eyes darkened.

"Danny told you this too? What is your relationship with him? Did Danny put Tommy in jail for you?"

"Is any of it your business?"

Ned took one step toward Angeline, a firm light in his eyes.

"Neither Mr. Norwalk nor Danny will marry a divorced woman with children. They're being nice to you merely because they want to get you to bed for some fun! You—"

Angeline slapped him across the face. She grabbed his tie and pulled him roughly toward her. Her eyes were frighteningly cold, and she looked completely different from how Ned remembered her.

"Not everyone… is as stupid in love as you are. All you think about are relationships."

Angeline enunciated each word clearly.

"Just manage your precious Ingrid well and put your efforts into Fletcher Corporation so you can deal with Vitality Biotech. Otherwise, Fletcher Corporation will go bankrupt in your hands."

Angeline laughed coldly and released Ned's tie. She even straightened his suit, seeming to be in a good mood.

Ned was breathing heavily.

"Angeline…"

"Ned, don't appear in front of me again. Unless… you've decided to start a battle with me for Linda."

Angeline looked at Ned, then walked toward the Night Palace.

Ned stood under the streetlights for a moment, then pushed open the back door of the Night Palace and walked inside.

Meanwhile, Sean stood at the window on the fourth floor with one hand in his pocket. His long, slender fingers picked up a wine glass from the table beside him. He downed it all in one gulp and slammed the glass down hard on the table. Then he picked up another glass and downed that as well.

His eyes were expressionless as he stared at the spot that Ned and Angeline had just left. There was undisguised rage burning in his eyes.

His silhouette was visible under the dim lights from below. Sean had strong facial features, and his body was relaxed. He wore a watch, and his slender fingers were wrapped around a wine glass, which he finished in one gulp. His Adam's apple, which was covered by the collar of his shirt, bobbed as he swallowed the drink. He looked both sexy and cold.

Behind Sean, bloodcurdling screams were drowned out by the deafening music downstairs.
