Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 255

Ned saw himself climb over the wall to play hooky with Angeline. A teacher caught them, but Angeline promised to raise Ned's grades to the top 50 in their year by the next month.

Her promise got them out of the staff room safely.

Ned took Angeline to the racecourse. He had wanted to show off his equestrian skills to her but had ended up falling off a wild-tempered horse. After that, he watched Angeline, dressed in an equestrian suit, hold the reins with one hand and effortlessly tame their wildest horse. At the time, she had seemed to shine brighter than the sun, and he remembered the sensation of his heart pounding like a hammer in his chest.

He saw himself beating someone half to death simply because they had confessed to Angeline.

He had panicked when she caught him. However, she merely grabbed his hand. Then she carefully cleaned the wound on his hand with antiseptic as she told him not to be so ridiculous in the future.

At that time, Ned realized he was the only one in her heart. Neither the debate team nor her friends in her school clubs were as important to her as he was.

He would sneak out of class to buy Angeline delicious food. When he wasn't in the same class as she was, he threatened her seatmate so that he could take their place instead. He sat beside Angeline, watching her pay attention in class.

When the teacher wasn't looking, he would stuff snacks in her mouth. He felt indescribably happy whenever he saw her cheeks bulging with food.

The English teacher of Angeline's class had ultimately chased him out.

After that, Angeline would simply go to his classroom with her books in his arms. She would ask his seatmate to make space so she could sit next to him and keep an eye on him so he wouldn't sneak out.

That was when Ned learned that Angeline had gone to the principal and requested to be moved to his class.

He knew she had done this for him, and he was so happy that he couldn't sleep a wink for days.

He could have given up his life for her then. If she even glanced at anyone else, he would beat that person to an inch of his death out of uncontrollable jealousy.

He saw that particular birthday when he had forced her to marry him at the city hall and threatened to kill himself if she refused.

Then Ned saw what had happened during the car accident. Angeline had thrown herself on him to protect him, and he remembered the firm, determined look in her eyes.

He saw Angeline, looking thin and frail in the dress she had worn on the day they got married, and how he had pushed her into the swimming pool. He had put his arm around Ingrid and forbade anyone to save Angeline.

Ned saw Angeline's former friends become Ingrid's friends and how they had all stood against her after she woke up. They had tried to dissuade Angeline from pursuing Ned and to give her blessing to him and Ingrid.

He was like an onlooker who could only watch as Angeline's so-called friends surrounded her and complained about her waking up. They told her that Ned loved Ingrid more than he had ever loved her because he and Angeline had always fought. Now that he was with Ingrid, he was always clingy and got along well with her.
