Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 326

Helen's chest was heaving. Her mind raced as she tried to think of another plan.

Danny twisted open the lid of his water bottle and said, "None of us were born yesterday. My boss trusts me, but I must explain things clearly so my boss or people like you from Lawson Global don't misunderstand my character. I'm afraid I might lose my position."

Danny wasn't wrong. Anyone who worked in a corporate setting would be wary of looking bad in front of their boss.

"Didn't Helen say that she knew the founder of Vitality Biotech? Didn't she know that Ms. Lawson is the founder?"

"She clearly didn't know! Even the collaboration with Vitality Biotech was decided with simply one sentence from Ms. Lawson, but Helen actually tried to say that Ms. Lawson was taking credit for her work. What a joke… The entire thing was Ms. Lawson's, to begin with!"

Helen's heart was beating rapidly. If she couldn't think of a way to settle this, things would be hard for her from now on.

"Someone asked me if I was familiar with the founder of Vitality Biotech. Indeed, I didn't know who they were, nor was I familiar with them! I shouldn't have been so blind and offended Ms. Lawson, the founder of Vitality Biotech. I apologize for that. I'm sorry!"

Helen was still trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes.

"Mr. Reilly, are you humiliating me just to ingratiate yourself with Ms. Lawson?"

"What a joke!" Danny scoffed.

"You contacted Vitality Biotech under Lawson Global's name yesterday afternoon. Before that, we knew our founder, Mr. Lawson Senior's granddaughter, had joined Lawson Global as the executive vice president.

"We had also received instructions from Ms. Lawson, the head of Vitality. She told us that we shouldn't allow third parties to gain the benefits, so she wanted us to sign an exclusive collaborative agreement with Lawson Global!

"So, when you said Ms. Lawson sent you to contact Vitality, we believed you. That was why we accepted it when you said you wanted to send us a proposal for collaboration!"

Danny spoke in a logical, measured tone.

"If you insist on your version of the story, Ms. Helen, I can request that Vitality provide the recording of our call and our contact history. I'd like to give you a friendly reminder that all those records include timestamps!"
