"When are you meeting up with Monica?" Sean asked.
"At 12:30 pm. Jamie has already booked a private room at Camelia Cuisine," Angeline replied honestly.
"Alright."
Sean pressed a kiss at the corner of her lips.
"I've made an appointment with some of my clients to play golf in the afternoon. I'll be heading back from the golf course."
Just then, his phone vibrated. Picking it up from the desk, Sean looked at it impatiently.
Angeline got up from his embrace. Still gasping for breath, she began to tidy her clothes and hair hastily.
Angeline spoke out when Sean declined the call.
"I'll head back to the office first. I'll update you about the meeting with Monica when I return."
"Okay."
He nodded.
Sean pulled out a cigarette after watching Angeline leave. Holding it by the corner of his lips, he lit the cigarette to placate the desire that had almost consumed him.
…
That day, Monica didn't hesitate to agree when she received a call from Angeline to have lunch together.
Monica knew that Angeline had joined Lawson Global. She had even heard about the matter that had occurred with the board of directors.
She figured Angeline had thought it through and had decided to cooperate with her. However, Monica never thought Angeline intended to purchase the land under Lawson Global's name.
Monica smirked as she reviewed the detailed valuation table Lawson Global had estimated for land No. 3.
Setting down the coffee pot, Angeline said, "I heard that Scott Incorporated has already begun to review the contract. They might sign and purchase the land at the latest by the day after tomorrow.
"However, business can change at a moment's notice. There's still a chance to back out as long as the contract hasn't been signed. You can ask your men to say that Lawson Global has offered a higher price—so you've decided to sell it to us."
Holding the cup of coffee, Monica gazed at Angeline as she listened silently.
"By using land No. 3, Lawson Global can exchange advantages with Scott Incorporated and gain a slice of the pie. At the same time, we will also invest in the project and request that you be reinstated!"
Angeline's lips curled up.
"You've put a lot of effort into this project. Wouldn't you like to steal the project back after Ms. Lara had a hand in it?
"As long as you're back, it's only a matter of time before you master it. After all, no one knows it better than you do, Ms. Monica."
Angeline was right. It was precisely because Lara had stolen the project that Monica desperately needed an exclusive contract agreement with Vitality Biotech Group to solidify her position within Scott Incorporated.
