Angeline picked up her coffee and looked at the drafts on the table. She smiled slightly. When word would get out about her instruction to have Lawson Global call off all projects with Ingrid, she'd probably soon get a call from Simon.

Most people in Krontos knew about Ned and Angeline's past. Now that Angeline, the vice president of Lawson Global, had personally given the order to stop all collaborations with Ingrid, the general public would think she was getting revenge and trying to boycott Ingrid.

The rumors spread quickly. When Ingrid's agency received the news, all the paparazzi could smell a bloodbath coming. Soon, someone dropped the bomb about Ned and Angeline's past. Ingrid's agency and studio did their best to keep things from going viral.

Angeline had just stepped out of the conference room. She hadn't even gotten the chance to speak to Sean when Simon called her. She glanced at Sean and waved her phone.

"I need to answer this. Let's have lunch together. I've already instructed the housekeeper to bring us our food."

"Alright."

Sean smiled and nodded.

The senior executives who had yet to leave after the meeting was dismissed watched as Angeline and Sean go their separate ways with smiles on their faces. One headed to an empty room to answer the phone, while the other took the elevator back to their office.

The senior executives couldn't help gossiping among themselves.

"The two candidates vying for our company's ownership… seem to be very different from the bloodbath the Scott sisters are having!"

"You can't look at things so superficially. They might look like they get along on the surface, but that's only for our eyes to see. Mr. and Ms. Lawson are both the type that can hide their genuine emotions well.

"For all you know, they can co-exist in peace and have all their meals together just to show Mr. Lawson Senior that all's well with them. But the more they act like this, the greater the chances are of them backstabbing each other!

"Don't even think a battle between the potential heirs of an affluent family can go down without some bloodshed!"

She sat and said, "I didn't expect you to call me, Simon. I heard your schedule's been jam-packed since you have to make your rounds at all the stores in Lonla."
