Second Marriage to Mr. Rich (Ned Fletcher) novel Chapter 370

If Angeline was Ned's world and reason for living, then what about Ingrid?

After getting together with Ned by imitating Angeline, Ingrid deliberately changed herself to become more and more like Angeline. Not only had he not stopped her, but he'd even fallen more in love with her.

Ingrid had thought she stood a chance against Angeline in Ned's heart. But as soon as Ned regained his memories, Ingrid had become nothing to him.

She thought she'd gained a relationship that was the stuff of legends in Oceanford—that her and Ned's relationship would also evoke envy in others. But reality had given her a harsh slap.

The compliments people had once paid her on winning herself a rich and handsome fiancé who was head over heels for her were now knives that stabbed her heart.

Ned's love was something she'd stolen. Now that its true owner had caught her, she had to return it.

"Fletcher Corporation might be bankrupt now, but I can still afford to compensate you. It might not mean anything to you, but I want you to know I'm sincere."

Ned pulled out a card from the bedside drawer and handed it to Ingrid.

"I'm sorry, Ingrid."

Ingrid's tears flowed as she looked at the card. Then, she gazed at Ned with wide eyes.

"You always used to call me 'baby.'"

Ned faltered for a second.

"I'm sorry. Angie used to use terms of endearment with me, too, so I can't do that with you anymore."

He held out the card.

"Take it. I'll tell the world I was the one to break up with you so it won't affect your reputation."

Ingrid stared at him for a few seconds. Then, she let out a low laugh and wiped her tears. She grabbed her bag and turned to leave without saying anything.

When she was almost out of the room, she said, "Helen Lawson, the niece of Lawson Global's chairman, called me because she couldn't reach you. She wanted you to call her back on something you're supposed to work together on and give her an answer."
