Eliza didn’t waver in the slightest after Amanda’s confession, maintaining her usual cold and indifferent expression.

“Also, at the Everest celebration banquet, it was Medea who willingly walked away with Mr. Tyler. I even warned her that Mr. Tyler wasn’t a good person, but she went with him anyway. She did that to make you look bad in front of Calvin, to get him to question your competence.”

It was clear that Amanda was at her wit’s end, spilling these secrets she thought were hidden, hoping to curry favor with Eliza in exchange for a chance at passing the interview.

But Eliza wasn’t so easily deceived.

If Amanda had kept her thoughts to herself, she would have received the notification about passing the interview within a few days.

But now, she had single–handedly ruined her own prospects.

Enzo’s studio was still busy when Eliza arrived, though she noticed a few fewer people than before.

She asked Enzo’s assistant about it and learned that the employees who had left recently had been poached by other companies offering higher

salaries.

If it were just one or two people, it could be seen as a normal turnover, but seven or eight? That was hard to ignore.

Eliza asked Derek to investigate further, and soon, she had the answer.

Just as she had suspected, these people had been lured away by Medea to Flying.

If they couldn’t poach Enzo, they would poach his studio staff. This was clearly a move aimed at targeting her.

Eliza spoke with Enzo.

“The shortage of staff is causing delays, and even if we hire more people now, it will take time for them to get up to speed, severely affecting our progress.”

Eliza had made a promise to Baxter, the general manager of Horizon Capital. If the self–developed model of ASKHEART wasn’t launched on time, it would surely affect their cooperation.

“Let’s just push through for now. Once we finish this stage, I’ll give everyone a bonus!” Eliza reassured them.

“Don’t worry, Eliza! We’re in this together!”

Those who hadn’t been swayed by the lure of higher profits were the ones who truly cared about ASKHEART

To them, ASKHEART was like their child, and they would take care of it with all their heart.

Eliza reminded Enzo to take care of his health, no matter how busy he was.

The next morning, Bazter came to Apex to discuss the collaboration.

He even brought Eliza Swiss chocolates and wine as gifts

“Isn’t this a bit much, Baxter?”

It was common for partners to exchange gifts, but Baxter had chosen thoughtful presents that weren’t overly expensive.

“I bought these when I went skiing in Switzerland during the New Year holiday. Don’t mind it, Eliza.”

“Did you have fun?” Eliza casually asked.

“It was pretty good. Calvin also went,” Baxter replied.

Eliza’s hand paused for a moment as she flipped through some documents.

Then she quickly resumed her composure. “Next month, ASKHEART’s self–developed model will be launched. We’ll need data from Quinn Auto. Make sure to prepare it in advance.”

“Got it! Just contact me whenever you need it.” Baxter took out his phone again. “Eliza, if it’s convenient, let’s add each other on Facebook.”

Eliza agreed this time.

As soon as the request went through, Baxter almost burst into tears of gratitude.

After Baxter left, Enzo called to say that they needed Quinn Auto to provide some data for the basic model.

Eliza opened Baxter’s Facebook and sent him a message.

He quickly replied, “Alright, I’ll get someone to prepare it and send it to Mr. Klein.”

Eliza sent him an “OK” emoji, and as she exited, her finger accidentally tapped Baxter’s profile picture, opening his contact card.

At the bottom of his profile was his latest Moments update.

Despite the small size of the photo, Eliza immediately saw Calvin and Medea wearing ski suits together.

So, he had gone to Switzerland to ski with Medea, leaving her hanging.

He was exactly the same as before!

Half a month later, Flying launched across all channels.

Eliza hadn’t been paying much attention to it.

It wasn’t until she drove past the city center square and saw an electronic billboard scrolling with Flying’s ad that she realized the scale of it.

This billboard was notoriously expensive 30,000 per minute, 500 dollars per second.

That was a huge amount of money.

Sadie brought the mushroom pigeon soup to Eliza as soon as she arrived at the office.

Lately, Sadie had been very diligent, bringing Eliza a different stomach soothing soup every day.

Eliza wasn’t sure if the soups had worked, but her stomach had been quite calm recently.

As Sadie ladled out the soup, she complained, “I don’t know how much money Everest has spent on advertising for Flying, but their ads are everywhere! The entire subway system in Washington is plastered with flying ads! Even mainstream media and TV stations have aired commercials.”

Enzo had been working overtime for half a month straight.

Every evening, after finishing at Apex, Eliza would drive to Enzo’s studio to help out.

They were working late into Friday night.

Eliza went to get food and drinks for them.

When she came back, she realized her car had run out of gas!

She had been so busy she hadn’t even noticed it.

Just as she was about to call a tow truck, a black Bentley pulled up beside her.

The window rolled down, and Josh called out to her, “Eliza? What are you doing here?”

“Mr. Kallis?”

Eliza was surprised to see a familiar face.

“Is your car broken?”

Josh got out of the car.

Eliza explained, “I forgot to refuel, it’s out of gas.”

Noticing the food delivery bags in her car, Josh guessed she had bought them for the team.
