Of course, this was Calvin’s business. Eliza could only complain a little, but she had no right to interfere.

She didn’t care much either.

Her priority now was figuring out how to get another invitation for the AI summit.

While she was fretting over the invitation, Eliza received a call from Josh.

She hadn’t bothered him much lately, especially with the funding issues, as she knew that Josh had his own hands full with the situation at Unite. She had some understanding of how things were going there.

It wasn’t so much that Josh had come back to take over Unite–it was more that he had come back to clean up the mess left behind.

Family businesses were like that; after some time, a multitude of problems inevitably arose.

On top of that, the previous generation had lacked the necessary skills, and Unite had been in decline for years.

-If it weren’t for their deep roots, they might have been eliminated long ago.

Since Josh took over, he had been busy handling these long–standing issues.

So when Eliza answered the phone, her first question was, “Are you done with work?”

Josh chuckled, “Almost.”

“Everything going smoothly?” she asked.

“Mm.”

Though it was a simple exchange, Josh felt lighter, as if a heavy burden had been lifted off his shoulders.

“Do you have time now?” Josh directly asked.

Eliza confirmed that she had time.

“Come to Unite?”

Eliza was surprised, but Josh explained, “I saw your loan application today, and I wanted to talk to you about it in detail. If you’re free, you can come

over now.”

“Alright!” Eliza immediately agreed.

In truth, the loan was a small one, and there was no need for Josh to personally handle it. But he was clearly offering her help.

She couldn’t turn down such a kind gesture.

So on her way to Unite, Eliza stopped by a nearby flower shop and bought a potted kumquat plant as a small gift.

Josh had already informed his secretary, and when Eliza arrived, she was immediately escorted to his office.

“Miss Grant, please wait here. Mr. Kallis is in a meeting, but it’ll be over in ten minutes.”

“Alright, this is a small gift for Josh. Could you please find a good spot to place it?” Eliza handed the potted kumquat to the secretary.

The secretary accepted it and, thinking it was just a small gesture, casually placed

by the window.

Soon after, Josh finished his meeting and came out. The secretary informed him that Eliza had arrived, along with the gift she brought.

Josh paused, asking, “Where’s the plant?”

The secretary pointed to the window.

Josh went over, picked up the potted kumquat, and brought it into his office.

When he entered, Eliza was flipping through a financial magazine in the reception area.

“You’ve been waiting long?” Josh placed the potted plant carefully on his desk and smiled warmly at Eliza.

“No.” Eliza raised the magazine in her hand. “I haven’t even finished the third page.”

“How’s the project going? Still running smoothly?” Josh asked as soon as he sat down, showing genuine concern for Eliza’s business.

“It’s going alright,” Eliza replied honestly.

“Everything’s difficult at the start, but take it slow,” he encouraged her.

Eliza smiled. “Let’s encourage each other.”

Josh had clearly done his homework and was familiar with Eliza’s project. But he still asked a few more questions.

Eliza answered with ease, showing just how dedicated she was to the project.

She also showed him the initial prototype, which he tested out.

He looked impressed. “For just an initial prototype, the effect is this good? Eliza, you’ve really struck gold.”

“We’re still in the pre–training phase, so the results you’re seeing are nothing compared to the actual product.”

“Still, it’s very impressive.”

The more Josh tested, the more pleased he became. “Eliza, I’ve decided to invest in your project!”

This didn’t surprise Eliza at all. She had complete confidence in the product.

But she still asked, “How much are you planning to invest, Josh?”

“About fifty million for the early stage. We’ll decide on the later stages as the project develops,” he replied.

Even though Eliza had full faith in the project, hearing the investment amount still left her a bit stunned.

“Thank you for your support, Enzo!” Eliza stood up and shook his hand.

“Let’s collaborate and win together. Draw up the contract as soon as possible, and we’ll get the funds transferred to your account,” Josh said.

“Alright!” Eliza was straightforward, as she was eager to use the funds for quantitative training.

Just as they were chatting happily, Josh had another visitor.

It was Gideon.

And not only him, he had brought Medea along.

Eliza raised an eyebrow, instinctively looking past the two of them.

She expected to see Calvin behind them, as he and Medea were always inseparable.

But this time, surprisingly, Calvin wasn’t there.

“Josh,” Medea entered, flashing a bright smile. But when she saw Eliza, her expression froze for a moment.

It quickly returned to her usual composure, and she automatically ignored Eliza, focusing her attention on Josh. “Am I disturbing your work?”

“No,” Josh answered.

But Gideon wasn’t so good at hiding his feelings. The moment he saw Eliza, his expression twisted with disdain.

He immediately switched into attack mode. “What are you doing here now?”

Eliza wasn’t bothered in the slightest. “I was wondering the same thing. What are you doing here?”
