Calvin, who had always been inseparable from Medea, wasn’t with her now.

Eliza didn’t even show the slightest change in her expression.

She hesitated for just a second, then decided to ignore him.

To her surprise, Calvin spoke first, “Eliza, take me back.”

That sentence was both familiar and strange.

Familiar because he used to give her this order all the time.

Strange because… it had been a long time since he’d said anything like that to her.

His gaze wasn’t as cold as usual. The corners of his eyes were slightly red, probably because he had been drinking. He had clearly forgotten that she was no longer his secretary.

-Eliza didn’t move, simply staring at him with an expression as cold as she would give a stranger.

“Eliza, I’ve been drinking, take me back!” he repeated, this time more forcefully, almost as an order.

Eliza’s car arrived just then. She got in front of Calvin, calmly closing the door with a soft click, completely separating herself from him.

That night, Eliza slept peacefully.

The next morning, she went to the studio to draft the contract.

At this time, Sadie appeared mysteriously in front of her, “Eliza, are you still missing an AI summit invitation?”

“Yes,” Eliza nodded.

She was still trying to figure out a way, but she had already prepared herself for the worst.

If she couldn’t get another invitation, she’d have Enzo attend.

After all, he was the tech expert and could better showcase their product.

“If I told you I have one, would you believe me?”

Without looking up from her work, Eliza continued typing on her keyboard, clearly not believing Sadie’s words.

Sadie, realizing her tease wasn’t working, became impatient and pulled out the invitation, tossing it casually onto Eliza’s desk. “I’m not joking. I really have one!”

Eliza picked it up and stared at it for a while.

Well, it was a real invitation!

“Where did you get this?” Eliza asked curiously.

Sadie immediately opened up and started talking rapidly,

“Do you remember when I told you about my resignation day?”

“I remember.”

On that day, Calvin had asked her to arrange travel for his business trip and also for Medea and her family.

“That day, there was so much to do, and I had to arrange travel for more than ten people while preparing for my resignation. I just forgot to return the invitation! I only found it last night while packing up the personal items I brought back from Everest.”

“Forgot?”

Eliza was a bit skeptical about this explanation.

Sadie could be a bit careless at times, but she wasn’t usually this scatterbrained. After all, she wouldn’t have passed Everest’s internship exams if she didn’t have a sharp mind.

Plus, an invitation like this, so valuable, was lost, and no one at Everest noticed?

“Really, I forgot. Originally, I was supposed to accompany Calvin on his business trip to Los Angles, so I had the invitation,” Sadie confessed, her tone

open.

“And these invitations, Everest has stacks of them. One extra, one less, it doesn’t make a difference!”

That part was actually true.

So Eliza just accepted the invitation without hesitation.

After all, she’d spent so many years working for Everest, so this invitation was like a token of compensation.

With that settled, Eliza was able to focus on finalizing the contract with Unite.

Two days later, the contract was ready. She personally delivered it to Unite.

Josh himself received her.

The potted plant on his desk was taken care of carefully.

After confirming the contract, Josh signed it immediately, and mentioned that the funds would be transferred to the company account in the next few

days.

The process went much smoother than Eliza had expected.

The funds arrived the next day–half of the amount was already in her account.

This solved her immediate financial problems, as the money she had left was almost gone.

Once the funds were in place, Eliza immediately called a meeting with the tech team at the studio. She instructed them to work on getting the model trained and ready before the summit.

Quantitative training required a large amount of internet data, so Eliza flew to the Northern City to meet with Mr. West from Horizon Group.

Horizon had the most comprehensive and advanced database in the country. If they could connect, it would greatly improve training efficiency.

What she didn’t expect was to run into Calvin and Medea in Northern City.

The world was indeed small.

It happened to be lunchtime when she arrived at Horizon.

Calvin had invited Mr. West to lunch.

But the decision was clearly up to Calvin.

Without hesitation, Calvin agreed, “If you think it’s fine, you don’t need to ask for my opinion.”

Such trust was built on absolute closeness.

It was something Eliza had worked for seven years to earn, but never got.

She froze for a moment, then gave a small smile,

“Sure, I’m here in Northern City to meet Mr. West anyway.”

She didn’t refuse.

After all, Calvin and Medea had already made the opportunity for her. Why not take it?

The four of them got into Horizon’s business car to head to the restaurant.

While Eliza chatted with Mr. West, Calvin and Medea sat in the front.

Eliza didn’t mind sitting in the back, but the constant sight of the two of them was a little bothersome. It felt like they were always in her line of sight.

Calvin personally opened the door for Medea and helped her out of the car.
