Gideon was desperate to make a name for himself, to prove he was more than just the joke everyone saw him as.
So, he paced around for a couple of rounds, but still came up empty–handed.
Feeling dejected, he overheard Eliza and Enzo discussing their speech.
A thought crossed his mind.
Could they have made it to the key product list?
No way!
At a summit of this level, the list was mostly pre–determined.
Either you had a strong backing, top–tier resources for endorsement, you were willing to invest in research and development, and you could afford to hire people at high salaries.
Even if your product wasn’t outstanding at first, there was always a chance to turn it around.
Eliza definitely didn’t meet this standard.
He had heard many rumors about her running around Washington trying to get investment, and he had witnessed it himself a few times.
He was sure she didn’t meet the criteria.
The other possibility for getting on the list would be that the product was just too impressive, too exceptional.
So exceptional that the organizers had decided to list it as one of the key products, even though the company had no real background or resources!
But… how could that be?
It must have been through some underhanded methods!
Yes, that must be it!
After all, Eliza in his eyes was exactly that kind of person!
Wasn’t it through such underhanded tactics that she had managed to stay by Calvin’s side for so long?
If it weren’t for the changes in Medea’s and Josh’s relationship, Calvin would have had the chance to rekindle his romance with his true love, and Ehza might have gotten away with it!
Eliza was indeed capable in these matters!
He had underestimated her!
No! He couldn’t let her stand up!
He had to think of a way to make sure fliza missed this opportunity!
Gideon eavesdropped for a while, learning that Enzo would be the one to present the product.
He was dismissive.
It seemed that Eliza lacked confidence in her product, and that was why she wasn’t going up on stage.

Chapter 78
Medea had the confidence to present herself.
Eliza must have been too afraid to lose face!
As expected, always scheming!
Eliza was unaware that someone was eavesdropping; her attention was entirely on the speech.
“Don’t be nervous when you go up.”
“If you really get nervous, just take a deep breath, and imagine the audience as the flowers and plants in your office. You’re just giving a presentation to them.”
“Is that really a method?”
“Yeah, someone taught me that before.”
Enzo was about to ask who it was, but when he saw Eliza’s expression, clearly not wanting to elaborate, he held back.
Eliza truly didn’t want to talk about it.
Because this method was taught to her by Calvin.
As she had mentioned before, aside from everything else, Calvin was actually a very competent boss.
His vision was outstanding, whether in project management or in choosing the right people.
His success was inevitable!
Of course, that was her view of him in the past.
As for the current Calvin, who blurred the lines between business and personal matters for Medea…
Eliza found it difficult to judge.
The key product showcase was decided by a drawing for the order of appearance.
When Eliza appeared at the drawing ceremony, Medea was quite surprised.
But she quickly regained her composure, thinking it wasn’t worth paying attention to Eliza
She must have gotten in either by luck or through improper means.
Medea was certain that Eliza had made it through the latter.
It was fine; this would only make Eliza embarrass herself even more!
By the time it was over, not only would Calvin not look at her again, but Josh probably wouldn’t either.
Medea still hadn’t gotten over the fact that Josh had invested in Eliza’s project
And that gold–plated bonsai…
It was like a thorn in her side.
It didn’t hurt when she didn’t think about it, but once she did, it made her uncomfortable.

It had to be removed.
Coincidentally, Eliza and Medea drew consecutive slots, one before the other.
Medea was first, Eliza was second.
Medea thought it was fine, as it would allow Calvin to see the difference between her and Eliza more clearly.
She wanted everyone to see that Eliza was not on her level.
In terms of education and ability, Eliza couldn’t compare.
Just the title of PhD in Economics from WT Business School was a height Eliza would never reach.
Eliza didn’t have as many thoughts about it.
She didn’t even think about Medea; her mind was focused on how to keep Enzo from getting nervous.
Tech geeks often had this trait–they were only interested in technical stuff, enjoyed solitude, and preferred deep thinking, with little social interaction.
“Total time is ten minutes, and the speech will be about eight minutes long, so we have plenty of time. Even if you get nervous and make a mistake, there’s time to correct it.”
Eliza explained to Enzo.
“You’ve drunk a lot of water, so you should go to the bathroom before going on stage.”
“Okay.” Enzo admired Eliza’s ability to execute.
“I’ll keep an eye on other people’s presentations, and we can learn from their experience.”
Soon, the key product showcase officially began.
The content was quite diverse.
The ones shortlisted were all industry leaders.
Medea was the fifth to go on stage. Eliza was a bit surprised when she saw her on stage.
Logically, technical things should be presented by technical people for more reasonability.
But Medea went up herself, which showed her confidence in her own product.
Earlier, during a dinner with Mr. West in North City, Medea had mentioned her project
At the time, Mr. West felt it was almost there but needed some adjustments.
But considering the adjustments over the past period, they had likely made progress.
She had heard that they had hired quite a few people with high salaries, and eyen a few of ‘ASKHEART’s‘ engineers had been poached.
With Calvin’s willingness to invest, they might have actually made it work.
Eliza kept an eye on the time while paying attention to Medea’s presentation.
When she introduced herself, she deliberately mentioned her educational background, which made the audience gasp.
