Feeling dejected, he overheard Eliza and Enzo discussing their speech.

Either you had a strong backing, top–tier resources for endorsement, you were willing to invest in research and development, and you could afford to hire people at high salaries.

Even if your product wasn’t outstanding at first, there was always a chance to turn it around.

Eliza definitely didn’t meet this standard.

He had heard many rumors about her running around Washington trying to get investment, and he had witnessed it himself a few times.

He was sure she didn’t meet the criteria.

The other possibility for getting on the list would be that the product was just too impressive, too exceptional.
