Chapter 191 Who’s Driving?
It was Emily.
Stella answered the call in a laid-back way, nuzzling Sebastian’s hand and shooting him a glance to keep going. “What’s up?”
Emily said, “Are you free? Wanna grab a bite together?”
Stella said, “Cut to the chase. What do you need?”
Emily was left speechless.
There was a brief silence on the other end, and for once, Stella actually had the patience to wait.
Emily said, “Do you know about the Dorestan Medical Alliance?”
Stella fell silent.
‘Well, isn’t that a coincidence, Stella mused.
She didn’t just know about them. She even knew their leader, Cedar.
Stella smiled.
Stella stayed chill. “Never heard of it. No idea.”
Emily said, “Thought so. It’s actually kind of a big deal-”
Before Emily could finish, Stella cut her off. “Just get to the point.”
Stella couldn’t care less about all that flashy hype.
Emily was left speechless.
On the other end, Emily, still in her lab coat, took a deep breath. “I’ve got a paper I want you to look over.”
As she said this, she glanced away awkwardly.
Stella said, “That’s all?”
Emily said, “Yeah, that’s it…”
Thinking it was something serious, Stella casually tore open a pack of cookies and started snacking without a
care.
Emily said, “What’s that noise?”
Stella froze mid-bite, feigning innocence as she coolly asked, “Noise? What noise?”
Sebastian, who’d witnessed the whole scene, could only sigh inwardly, speechless.
He thought, ‘Seriously, Stella’s poker-faced lying skills seem to have leveled up.’
He stayed silent.
Emily listened for a moment, and when the weird noise was really gone, she finally spoke up, sounding awkward and a little stubborn. “So, are you gonna help me or not?”
Her voice went all soft, almost like she was whining for attention.
Stella didn’t know what to say.
‘That’s against your character, young lady, Stella thought, a little amused.
Stella said, “Just send it to me.”
With that, she was about to hang up, but Emily, who knew her all too well, quickly called out, “Wait!”
Stella said, “What else?”
She still had half a pack of cookies left and was getting impatient.
Emily said, “If you spot any issues, just fix them for mid form author it.”

“No need,” Stella said.
‘Seriously? It’s already unfair if I help her edit it. Putting my name on it would cause big problems, Stella thought.
With that, Stella hung up before Emily could say another word.
She continued to enjoy her cookies.
Sebastian couldn’t help himself anymore. “Stella…”
Stella glanced up at him, looking a bit spaced out. “Huh?” She made sure there were no cookie crumbs on him this time. “All clean,” she said, pointing at his suit pants.
Sebastian didn’t know what to say.
He sighed and leaned in toward her.
Stella blinked, watching as his face came closer, her body instinctively trying to pull away. But Sebastian, who knew her every move, stopped her with his hand.
Stella stayed silent.
Without a word, Sebastian softly kissed away the cookie crumbs at the corner of her mouth.
The two of them locked eyes.
Sebastian glanced at her, a bit uneasy. ‘Would she mind?’ he wondered.
They both stayed silent.
Then, Stella popped the rest of the cookie into her mouth.
Sebastian was speechless.
He could only watch as she managed to get cookie crumbs back on the corner of her mouth, her eyes twinkling mischievously at him.
Her long lashes fluttered.
Stella said, “Sebastian…”
‘Do it again, she thought, looking at him with playful anticipation.
Sebastian didn’t know what to say.
He took a deep breath.
‘Guess I was just overthinking it,’ he thought.
Meanwhile, over on Sandridge Island, Allan was behind the wheel, personally driving Annette to the hospital for her follow-up appointment.
Lucas sat on the couch, his soft, chubby little face looking extra serious as he crossed his arms.
To his right, Big Ben tried to copy his little master and cross its arms, too,
But halfway through, its stubby little arms just couldn’t quite make it and got stuck.
Big Ben was speechless.
‘If I’m not embarrassed, then it’s everyone else who should be!’ Big Ben thought, totally unfazed.
On the left, Snowball’s big, snowy-white head popped up from under the coffee table.
Snowball thought, ‘Yikes!
‘That embarrassment actually makes me uneasy!’
“Hup!” Suddenly, as if he’d made up his mind, Lucas clenched his tiny fists and gave himself a little cheer.
Big Ben said, “Let’s go see Stella!”
Big Ben copied Lucas’s move.
Snowball was stunned.

Snowball watched in disbelief as Lucas dashed upstairs, changed at lightning speed, slung his beloved shark backpack over his shoulder, and came back at the top of the stairs.
Then he zoomed down again, his little legs going a mile a minute.
He stormed toward the front door, looking like he meant serious business.
Suddenly, Lucas looked up, confused.
Lucas tried to march forward, but no matter how hard he pushed, he stayed stuck in place. He turned to see Snowball clinging to his shirt, its eyes huge and teary.
As soon as Lucas glanced back, Snowball shook its head frantically, begging him not to leave.
Snowball was about to cry. It yelled in its mind, ‘Don’t go!’
Lucas puffed.
Snowball kept shaking its head, and it couldn’t help but smack Big Ben with its big tail.
Big Ben tilted its head. “We could make lunchboxes and take them to Stella!”
Lucas stopped. “Huh?”
Snowball thumped the floor with its tail tip, all excited. It thought, ‘Ooh, awesome idea!
Snowball, ‘Wait, no! We can’t leave the island, hey!’
Three minutes later, Lucas, Big Ben, and Snowball all crowded together at the table, heads pressed close as they pored over the recipe book.
Big Ben poked at a recipe with its chubby finger, asking, “How about this one?”
Lucas and Snowball shook their heads in perfect sync.
Snowball flicked its tail at another recipe.
Lucas and Big Ben both shook their heads.
Lucas kept flipping through the pages, then suddenly stopped. His mouth dropped open in silent awe, his eyes filled with twinkling stars, and he started tapping the page with his tiny hands, barely able to contain his
excitement.
‘That’s it!’ he thought, totally hyped.
Big Ben and Snowball leaned in for a closer look.
