The door opened.
Stella got in.

Vincent, sitting in the passenger seat with a stern face, said, “Hey, Missy, this isn’t Uber. You’re in the wrong car.”
Under her baseball cap, Stella now wore a black mask. Hearing Vincent’s familiar voice, she looked replied, “No, this is the right car. License plate 001. Drive.”

She deliberately lowered her voice.
Eliel said, “Let me call and check.”
He pulled out the number Caleb gave him and dialed. The ringtone sounded from the back seat.
Stella lazily lifted her phone and showed it to both of them with a casual wave.
Eliel was left speechless.
Vincent could only stare in disbelief.
‘Wait, it’s really her?’ Vincent thought, stunned.
For a moment, nobody said a word. Both Vincent and Eliel struggled to connect this skinny girl with a high- stakes mission, barely able to keep a straight face.
Stella ignored them and leaned back in her seat.
Eliel was left speechless.
Vincent could only stare in disbelief.
‘Damn, she’s actually kind of cool, Vincent thought.
Stella said, “Go pick up two people for me.”
Eliel frowned and asked, “Who are they?”
Stella gave them two names.
The car slowly started moving.
Vincent and Eliel kept checking her out in the rearview mirror, but Stella just ignored them completely.
She was as stubborn as a rock.
Forty minutes later, they reached the end of a winding mountain road.

At the end of the increasingly remote mountain road stood a formidable iron gate guarded by men in uniform. When they spotted the Red Shadow emblem on the car, the guards saluted.
On both sides of the wall, bold characters were clearly displayed.
It read: [Military Area. No Stopping.]
The iron gate swung open.
They drove through without any trouble.
Vincent clicked his tongue, remembering how the last person they escorted just wouldn’t shut up from the moment they stepped inside. Compared to that, Stella in the back seat was cool and collected, like a boss here for an inspection.
‘Damn, she’s got some serious presence,’ Vincent thought.
The car rolled to a stop in front of an imposing building.
Stella hopped out.
She spotted a familiar black Maybach parked nearby.
She paused, tugged her cap lower over her face, pulled out her phone, hesitated for a second, then tossed it back into the car.
She headed inside.
The smooth marble patterns gave the place an icy chill.
Vincent snuck a glance at Stella. All that showed beneath her black baseball cap and matching mask was a sliver of delicate skin.
Vincent was confused.
‘Why does she look so damn familiar? This is weird, Vincent thought.
The elevator doors slid open.
Eliel and Vincent stepped in first, while Stella moved at her own pace, turning around.
Right then, the elevator across from them opened up.
Allan was pushing Sebastian, who sat in a wheelchair with a frosty, unapproachable look, with two top brass walking alongside.
Stella fell silent.
It was like Sebastian sensed something; he looked up, his eyes searching in her direction, but all he caught was the cold, closing elevator doors.

One of the commanders said, his voice heavy, “About the mercenary situation?”
Sebastian’s frosty gaze dropped. He replied, “Deal with it quickly.”
Once he finished speaking, he waved Allan off.
Inside the Maybach, Allan was honestly speechless.
Allan said, “Why are you buying stuff for Stella again? Man, are you hooked or what?”

On the way over, Sebastian had his eyes glued to his phone. Allan peeked over, curious, and realized he was placing orders on Nova Mall Online. ‘No way, Sebastian actually learned how to shop online just for Stella?’ Allan thought.
Allan watched him go on a nonstop shopping spree the whole way there, and now, even on the way back, he was still at it.
Sebastian looked up, his eyes cold and dark, and said seriously, “This color looks nice.”
Allan was speechless.
‘Good looking? Just because it looks good doesn’t mean you have to buy every single one,’ Allan thought.
Whenever Sebastian thought something would suit Stella, he would buy it in every color, no exceptions.
And then there was the matter of the headbands. While most folks would just buy one or two, Sebastian was purchasing them by the hundreds.
‘Is he trying to open a headband shop or something? Put all those headbands together, and he could probably wrap the planet three and a half times,’ Allan thought.
Allan said, “If you keep this up, I’m gonna call Nathan. I think you need professional help.” He paused, then asked, “You’ve already knocked out all the walls on Stella’s floor. Where would you stash all this stuff?”
Sebastian fell silent.
He just gave Allan a silent look.
Allan was speechless.
Allan suddenly got a bad vibe.
Sebastian said, “So, when are you moving out?”
Allan asked, “Wait, what?”
Sebastian continued saying, “We can use your floor for storage too. There’s still plenty of space.”
Allan was speechless.
‘Are you freaking kidding me? That’s it, I’m done. I’m going all out against you, Allan thought.

Upstairs, Stella and her two escorts stepped out of the elevator. The guard waiting for them nearly popped his eyes out, giving Eliel and Vincent a look like he seriously doubted their sanity.
‘Did you guys seriously bring the right person?’ the guard wondered, unable to shake his suspicion.
Eliel and Vincent, now that they’d had a chance to chill out, just shook their heads with a helpless sigh.
The door opened.
Everyone inside instantly turned their eyes on them.
Levi, the director of the Jaffina Kinetic University Tech Research Institute, was right there in the crowd. When he got the call today, the old guy was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement.
He spent the last few days waiting for a call from the head of Lab 709 anxiously, but there was radio silence. Levi was sure the whole thing was dead in the water, but just when he thought it was all over, there was a plot twist.
He’d even dressed up in his most formal outfit, determined to make the best impression possible.
After all, that was Lab 709.
Right at that moment, when everyone finally saw the girl standing in front of Eliel and Vincent, everyone stood there, dumbstruck. The silence was absolutely suffocating.
Stella pulled out her phone, stone-faced, and dialed a number. Right then, Levi’s phone started ringing.
The caller ID read: [Lab 709 Director.]
Levi’s jaw dropped.
He jumped to his feet, staring at his phone, then at Stella, then back again, totally floored, like he just couldn’t wrap his head around it.
Still in a daze, he answered the call and hit speaker, like he was in a dream.
“Hello?” Levi answered, his lips trembled, his voice pitched.
Stella said, “Mm.”
Her voice came through the speaker, clear and unmistakable, filling the entire conference room.
There was no mistake.
