Chapter 340
Even the air felt thick with tension.
Declan was stunned.
He could feel Stella’s anger.
:
Hey, kid, that’s 1.5 million on the table. What more do you want? one of Fred’s crew snickered.
Stella said coldly, “Oh, really?”

In the next second, she squeezed his throat, and her perfectly manicured nails dug deep into his skin. The guy who’d been laughing just a second ago now had his eyes bulging, his face turning beet red as he struggled to breathe.
What more do you want now? Stella asked and stared at him with a cold, expressionless gaze.
She enhanced her strength.
The man’s throat made a strange, cracking sound.
Let him go! someone shouted, trying to pull her off. Stella shot them a sideways glance.
She showed a smile.
The van came to a stop by the side of the road.
Inside, it looked like a tornado had hit it.
Declan was stunned.
He was certain that she hadn’t used all her strength when she fought Tony and his men at Red Ace Bar.
Fred gripped the steering wheel, pupils shrinking, cold sweat dripping down his forehead. He stared hard into the rearview mirror, watching his rear, especially the cold, sharp blade pressed right to his throat.
Let’s talk this out! Fred stammered.
Stella asked, “How much did your boss put on the table?”
Fred stuttered, “What?”
The blade was pressed in a fraction deeper, biting into his skin.
Stella’s eyes flicked up, meeting his gaze in the mirror. “How much?”
Her voice dropped, low and dangerous.
6 million! Fred blurted, his voice shaking, legs trembling so hard he could barely keep his foot on the pedal.

Before he could say another word, Stella twisted her wrist. He fainted.
Declan was stunned.

He watched as Stella lazily withdrew her hand, then, with casual grace, slid the sharp silver hairpin back into the low bun Sebastian had tied for her that morning.
Her sharp jawline came into view.
Suddenly, Stella froze for a moment.
She turned her head to look at Declan.
Stella blinked.
Declan was stunned.
Stella asked, “You just gonna sit there?”
She raised an eyebrow.
Declan was confused.
Throw him in the back, Stella ordered, her face blank. You’d never guess she was the same person who’d just choked a guy out seconds ago.
A moment later. “You know the way, right?” Stella asked, leaning her head on one hand, fingers loose on the wheel, shooting Declan a lazy sideways look from the driver’s seat.
Declan nodded. “Just head straight.”
The van just sat there, not moving.
Stella started drumming her fingers on the steering wheel, the impatient tapping filling the van.
Declan turned to look at her.
Their eyes met. Stella pointed at Declan’s seatbelt. “Safety is the first rule.”
Declan was stunned.
He thought, ‘You really are a total stickler for the rules!”
Half an hour later, they arrived at the Underground Boxing Arena.
The van pulled straight into the parking lot, and the two of them got out. Fabian, who’d been lurking in the shadows, handed Stella a paper bag. As for the guys in the van, Fabian would take care of them.
Outside the restroom, Stella said, “Wait here.”
When Stella stepped out again, she’d traded her white shirt for a black windbreaker.

She’d also thrown on a black baseball cap.
Pulled low, it hid most of her face.
Declan said, “Backstage’s that way. Come on.”
She probably had no clue just how much she caught people’s eyes.

Even with her face mostly hidden, that dangerous vibe she gave off matched this savage, beast-filled place perfectly.
Suddenly, a wild animal’s roar echoed through the arena.
Stella stopped, turning toward the noise, her eyes cold under the brim of her baseball cap.
It’s a tiger, Declan said next to her. “The boss brings it out to get the crowd pumped.” Every time a match was about to start, he unleashed this hungry tiger, and the place went nuts.
People start betting like crazy, totally losing their minds.
Stella said, “Let’s go.”
Backstage, Orpheus Greymark had a cigar clenched between his teeth. Monterra’s newest underground boxing champion was sitting right next to him, while his translator and manager were all smiles, joking around with Orpheus.
Not far off, bodyguards with guns at their hips scanned the room with cold, watchful eyes.
Suddenly, Declan pushed the door open and walked in.
The new champ from Monterra looked him up and down, giving Declan a lazy, arrogant squint.
Declan, you finally made it! Orpheus boomed, laughing as he strode over, arms outstretched like he was about to hug him. But when his eyes landed on Stella, her face mostly hidden, he paused. “And who’s this?”
Stella said, “I’m here to talk business with you.”
Her voice was cold.
The champ’s translator did his job, relaying every word. As soon as he finished, there was a loud metallic crash. Stella threw a bunch of chains and rings at Orpheus’s feet.
Orpheus fell into silence.
His grin disappeared instantly. He knew exactly what those were. They belonged to the goons he’d sent after Declan.
Bodyguards pulled their guns, pointing them right at the back of Stella’s head.
Declan said, “Don’t you dare!”
