The newly crowned champ, Suval Thornefield, was chewing on Bubble gum, a lopsided smirk on his face. “Declan, this is your girl?” He spat it out on the floor. “She’s pretty wild!”
Suval gave Stella a once-over, eyeing her from head to toe. “Too bad-”
Orpheus jumped in, “Too bad what?”
Fighting a chick? That’s just bad luck, Suval sneered, not even seeing Stella as a threat. She barely reached his chin, and she looked so scrawny that he figured one punch would send her flying.
As soon as Suval said that, the whole backstage burst out laughing.
Around them, a crowd of burly fighters began to gather. Declan’s fists tightened as he shifted into a defensive stance. planting himself firmly between Stella and the rest.
Stella drawled lazily, “100 million dollars.”
Declan was stunned.
The laughter cut off in an instant. Orpheus yelled, “How much did you just say?”
Down here in the Underground Boxing Arena, it doesn’t matter if you’re a guy or a girl, Stella said, her gaze cool and steady as she casually popped out the magazine and tossed the gun back to the bodyguard.
Or what, you scared I’ll beat you? she added.
Stella was ice-cold from start to finish, and that just made her words sting even more.
Suval sneered, “You trying to provoke me?” as he shoved his manager’s hand away.
His eyes flashed with a dangerous glint.
He had to admit, Stella got to him. His blood was boiling, ready for a fight.
Stella said lazily, “What’s the point of a rigged match? If we’re going to fight, let’s make it real.”
Nobody said a word.
From behind the heavy curtain, the crowd’s wild, thrill-seeking cheers echoed through, a world apart from the icy tension backstage.
Suval locked his dangerous gaze on Stella, eyes full of menace.
Stella met his glare with a cool, teasing smile.
Suval sneered, “What if you lose?”
Stella shrugged. “100 million dollars, all yours.”
Suval grinned, “Deal.”
Stella raised an eyebrow, her tone sharp. “And what if you lose?”

Stella fixed Suval with a long, icy stare, sizing up the Monterra champ who was practically bursting with confidence. “Remember what you just promised.”
Ten minutes later, Declan watched Stella, cool as ever, calmly wrapping her hands. He wanted to say something, but stopped when she suddenly asked in that frosty tone, “What are the odds
‘Your life’s hanging by a thread, and you’re worried about the odds?’ Declan thought, totally floored.
Orpheus had just announced that a female fighter was stepping to the ring, and it sent a shockwave through the Underground Boxing Arena. This was the first time a woman had ever fought here, especially against Monterra’s newly crowned champ.
The excitement was off the charts.
People couldn’t stop talking, and the crowd outside swelled by the minute.
Declan glanced at the crowd outside, then said quietly, “Right now, almost nobody’s betting on you to win.”
Meanwhile, Suval was wrecking everyone in his path, flattening challenger after challenger with his iron fists. Every strike was savage, dripping with killer intent.
By the rules, the Monterra champ had to take on nine rounds against underground brawlers from Clusia. The tenth was supposed to be Declan’s turn.
They will, Stella drawled, totally unfazed.
Declan stared at her, speechless. “How do you know that?”
Stella paused, tilting her head. “I don’t just know. I know that after nine rounds, the odds between Suval and me will be dead
even.”
Orpheus, standing off to the side, laughed, “This girl’s really something.”
Declan frowned. “I don’t believe it.”
Orpheus just shook his head with a chuckle, like he was teasing Declan for being young.
Stella didn’t say a word. She just kept wrapping her hands, clearly not planning to explain herself to Declan.
Half an hour later, Suval was up on the stage, showing no mercy to the ninth Clusian brawler.
Suval cracked the guy’s ribs with a single punch, and when the Clusian hit the mat, Suval didn’t even hesitate. He drove his boot right into the guy’s knee.
The crowd was a chaotic mess of cheers and jeers, the noise never letting up for a second.
I’m the only king here! Suval roared, throwing his arms up in triumph, arrogance dripping from every pore.
His cocky display was a direct insult to the Clusian audience. After nine rounds of total domination, the Clusian fighters had been getting steamrolled round after round.
Every Clusian in the crowd felt their fighting spirit ignite.
The ninth fighter was dragged off the ring, leaving a bloody trail winding across the canvas. Suval sat back in his corner, his interpreter and manager fanning him down and passing him water, while the final round’s betting frenzy began.

Bang. His eyes, cold and ruthless, zeroed in on the numbers flickering across the big screen. Jaw clenched, he sneered, lips twisted in a vicious grin.
Backstage, Declan couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked at the odds.
They are dead even! She really gets it right?’ Declan thought.
Declan stared at the screen in disbelief, “What is this?”
Declan had thought for sure that by this point, everyone would be backing Suval.
So why has the tide suddenly turned? Even with everyone knowing the tenth round is a woman going up against Suval, they are still betting on her to win!’ he wondered.
Stella glanced up. “You’ve had the highest win rate these past six months. That’s one of the main reasons they picked you.”
Her gaze swept over the bloodstains on the stage, voice icy. “After nine rounds of total wipeouts, no Clusian wants to see a repeat of that slaughter.
They’re all desperate for a miracle. So if you were the one stepping into the ring today, you’d have eighty percent of the bets on you, easy.
Declan never imagined there’d be so many layers to this underground brawl.
So, what do you think they’re feeling right now? Stella asked, her tone lazy and unbothered.
Declan didn’t even hesitate. “They are furious.”
The Clusian crowd in the stands was red-faced, screaming their lungs out at the ring. The energy was absolutely insane. It was a wild scene that hit you right in the gut.
Stella said, “If you take that 1.5 million dollars and throw the figh on purpose, all that anger and fury is going to land right on you. And you—”
