Suddenly, Dashiell raised his hand again, and this time, he pointed out the car window.

At the red light, the cars were all stopped, and Dashiell pointed at a black Accord.

Jareth frowned. “Dashiell, what are you getting at?”

“The people in that car have a connection to the Young Sovereig, Dashiell replied.

Everyone was confused, not knowing what he meant.

Inside the black Accord, a couple was arguing.

Raina Lynne said, “Jenna is such a good kid. She must have been terrified when being taken away. We can just compensate Stella a bit more. Would 60 thousand be enough? We can offer more.

“We can’t let Jenna get a record.”

Raina still hadn’t grasped the gravity, thinking money would solve everything.

“Just shut up,” Nolan Lynne snapped. He knew this was serious.

When he called Zack earlier and asked to meet with Stella, Zack had blurted out that he’d have to check with Stella first.

Nolan, used to bureaucratic hierarchy, recognized the seriousness immediately.

While the light was red, Nolan pulled the car over. “Did the cops say where Jenna’s being held?”

Raina shook her head. “They wouldn’t tell me. I even mentioned her uncle-in-law’s name, but it didn’t help.”

Jenna’s uncle, Vance, worked for the government.

Nolan’s gut was telling him something was seriously wrong.

And not long after, both the Land Rover and the Accord rolled up side by side at the gates of Edenbury Academy.

Tony turned his head, giving the Accord a suspicious, almost baffled look.

He thought, ‘How did Dashiell know? I’ve been watching that car the whole way, and it actually rolled right up to Edenbury Academy. Wait, why did that car look so familiar?’

He was still lost in thought when Nolan stepped out of the driver’s seat. “Mr. Parker?”

Tony blinked in surprise. He thought, ‘Isn’t this the dad of that girl who’s always hanging out with Chantel? What is he doing here?’

“What are all those people doing out there?” Dashiell, Halcyon, and Jareth stepped out of the car as they gazed at the grand entrance of Edenbury Academy.

However, what greeted them was a sea of people, at least a hundred or so, all packed together. And every single one of them was wearing the uniform of Technical High School.

They were blocking the gate.

“I’ll send someone to check it out,” Tony replied respectfully, waying over one of his guys.

Nolan was honestly floored. He’d never seen Tony act this deferential, especially to three old men who looked a little weird.

After a long time, Tony’s guy never came back.

“Mr. Parker, don’t you know?” Nolan paused, then decided to spill the beans.

Tony froze for a second. “What do you mean?”

“Chantel and Jenna got picked up by the cops, and we haven’t heard a word since,” Nolan explained.

Tony gaped. “Really?”

He was Chantel’s uncle, but he never heard about that.

Raina quickly filled him in, but she left out all the parts where Jenna and Chantel had been the ones stirring up trouble. Moreover, she added a few extra details to make the problem sound even worse.

Nolan shot her a look but kept his mouth shut.

“How dare they?” Tony exploded. “That’s absolutely ridiculous.”

He thought, ‘How dare Stella act so high and mighty? She isn’t taking me seriously at all’

“The Young Sovereign is right here.” Dashiell suddenly shouted, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he dashed straight toward the crowd.

Halcyon and Jareth hurried after him.

Tony didn’t even pause; he turned to Nolan and barked, “Come with me. We’re going to find Stella together.”

Nolan and Raina exchanged a look, grinning with relief. They thought, ‘If the legal way doesn’t work, we’ll just stick with Mr. Parker. There’s no way Stella will get away with it!

The two of them hurried after Tony, pushing through the crowd

“Everyone, move.” Tony was already fuming as he shoved aside the Technical High School students blocking the entrance to Edenbury Academy.

The closer he got to the center, the more the commotion inside started to sound oddly familiar.

Tony blinked, and suddenly, it all clicked. When he finally saw what was happening, he just stood there, dumbfounded.

“Holy shit.” His shout shattered the stunned silence among the Technical High School students.

Leonardo, who knew that feeling all too well, shot Declan a knowing look. When he’d rushed over earlier with his crew, he’d blurted out the exact same thing.

As he mulled it over, his eyes landed on Stella at the school gate.

Stella was perched on a chair Chadwick had dragged over, her flawless face blank and unreadable. She was sitting there in full boss mode with a baseball bat.

Icarus, who’d been all swagger just moments ago, was now sprawled out by her feet, face swollen and bruised, twitching all

over.

In front of her, a row of Icarus’s lackeys lay on the ground, each one shaking like a terrified animal.

Stella’s eyes snapped up, cold and sharp, zeroing in on the source of the shout.

Her words had barely faded when the row of boys lying before her started up again, voices perfectly in sync and eerily well- practiced. “We’re so sorry. Please forgive us.”

Stella’s gaze stayed locked on Tony, cold as ice. She slowly lifted the baseball bat she’d been playing with, aiming it right at him. “Are they with you?”

Tony’s heart skipped a beat. Sweat rolled down his forehead.
