Sebastian instinctively reached out, steadying himself on the back of the sofa behind her.

And just like that, they were pressed up against each other.

Stella’s fingers brushed lightly over Sebastian’s Adam’s apple, her long lashes lifting as she looked up at him.

They’d teamed up online more times than they could count, hunting down priceless treasures stolen from Clusia and helping Clusia’s diplomats escape chaos in foreign countries.

Those initials didn’t seem to have anything to do with Sebastian

“It doesn’t mean anything. I just typed them in on a whim,” Sebastian said.

Stella paused for a couple of seconds, obviously not convinced, but she let it slide.

After a long, exhausting day, Stella finally let herself relax, and before she knew it, she was stifling a yawn.

Sleepiness was starting to creep in.

“Stella,” Lucas whined, clinging to Sebastian’s pant leg.

He latched on tight.

Sebastian put a finger to his lips, telling him to keep quiet.

She was completely worn out.

On the way back, Sebastian kept Stella nestled in his arms, his cold hand gently running through her hair every now and then.
