At night, in Jaffina, Dexter had just wrapped up a nationwide tour with his band and stepped off the plane. In her room, Sophie sat in front of her computer, feeling restless.

On the screen, Stella’s refined and aloof face appeared before her eyes.

Sophie restlessly bit her nails. A sudden knock sounded at the door. “Sophie, are you still awake?”

“No, I’m still up,” Sophie replied, quickly clicking her mouse to hide the screen. Aveline walked in, and Sophie quickly stood up. “Mom.”

Aveline smiled warmly. “Sit down.” She gently pulled Sophie to sit down across from her.

“Sophie,” Aveline said with a gentle smile on her youthful face, “I managed to get you a spot for the Rhaesia University interview that’s happening in Jaffina in a few days.”

Sophie’s eyes widened in surprise, but her excitement quickly faded into worry. “But what about Candy?”

Actually, Sophie had given up her interview spot for Candy before, but after everything that happened, it had ended

up back with her.

At the mention of Candy, Aveline’s face grew serious. “Now that everyone in Jaffina knows Candy was taken away by the Lion Squad, what’s going to happen to her?”

Aveline trailed off, then shook her head.

She reached out and gently took Sophie’s hand. “When the day comes, I’ll have Emerson take you there. Our Sophie is such a talented cellist. Rhaesia University would be crazy not to accept you.”

Sophie’s chest was thudding with excitement.

In Tongalia, the three-day International Herbal Medicine Conference had officially come to an end.

After a short break, delegations from all over the world would set sail for home early the next morning.

In the room, Stella lounged lazily on the couch, her eyes lowered. She idly coiled Blackie around one hand while scrolling through the list of a hundred Blaze members Fabian had sent her.

Lucas, fresh out of the shower, came running over, his little hands outstretched.

Lucas pounced onto Stella. He was so happy.

By the time Sebastian walked out, Lucas was already out like a light, clutching his little belly.

Stella glanced up lazily and caught him just in time before he tumbled off the couch, scooping him back into

her arms.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes slightly.

:

He walked over in silence, grabbed Lucas by the scruff of his shirt, and picked him up.

Stella was speechless.

Lucas’s cry came out in a soft, babyish voice.

Lucas blinked sleepily, opening his eyes to find himself staring right at Sebastian.

Lucas rolled his eyes.

Sebastian, caught off guard, looked momentarily awkward.

Lucas, looking like a little porcelain doll, dangled in the air, his tiny toes wiggling back and forth.

Sebastian pursed his lips. He stared at Lucas.

Lucas let out a soft, babyish yawn.

“Sebastian, put him down,” Stella said, propping her head up with one hand. The beads dangling loosely from her wrist clinked together. It was a mesmerizing sight.

Sebastian was just about to toss Lucas aside without a second thought.

“Put him down gently,” Stella said, not even bothering to look up.

She totally called it before he even tried.

Sebastian thought, ‘Really?’

There was a brief pause.

When he came back out, he squeezed himself next to Stella, his face completely expressionless.

“Your hair’s not dry?” Stella paused, blinking up at him, catching Sebastian’s handsome, indifferent face staring right at her.

He couldn’t take his gaze off Stella.

Stella was speechless.

A moment later, the notary showed up.

Sebastian closed his eyes, his long lashes casting shadows across his face. He looked unusually elegant, and for once, there was a touch of warmth to him, less cold, more real.

He let Stella’s slender fingers gently comb through his hair.

Suddenly, one of Leonardo’s goons shouted.

Stella glanced at the caller. It was Callum.

She raised an eyebrow and answered.

:

“Ms. Carter, Emily’s missing,” Callum blurted out, his voice trembling with anxiety.

“Slow down,” Stella said.

Callum stood outside Emily’s room, taking a deep breath. “I was just trying to get her for dinner, but I couldn’t reach her by phone, and no one answered when I knocked.

“I got the front desk to open the door, but the room was empty. But…”

He looked down and spotted a tiny, barely noticeable trace of blood by the crack of the door.

Stella’s expression turned icy. “But what?”

Callum said, “There’s blood.”

Just as he finished speaking, there was a knock at the door, but the footsteps faded away almost immediately.

Blackie slithered down from Stella’s wrist, picked up a white envelope in his mouth at the door, and brought

it back.

Sebastian took the envelope with his cold fingers and opened it. The page inside was filled with blood-red writing.

It read: [If you want her to live, bring the Ghost Orchid and Silverthatch to the Herbal Medicine Guild and trade them for her!]

Stella was silent for a couple of seconds.

A cold, dark aura seemed to swirl around her, making the air feel heavy and tense.

A moment later. She said, “I know where she is. Go back to your room; I’ll bring Emily back later.”

Her voice was cold and indifferent, but those familiar with Stella’s personality knew very well that this was already a sign she was about to lose her temper.

With that, she hung up.

Two seconds later, Stella fired off a text.

“Sebastian, I’m stepping out for a bit.” She paused, then added, “Be right back.”

Emily was her number one, her go-to girl. She was going to get her back herself, no matter what.

Ten minutes later, a fleet of black business vehicles rolled up outside the hotel, each one stopping in perfect formation.

The air was thick with a deadly, bloodthirsty vibe, and everyone nearby couldn’t help but turn and look.

In the lobby, Cain stood with his Dorestan Medical Alliance crew, all of them lined up facing the elevator, as if they were waiting for someone to show up.

His face was serious.

The whole lobby was on edge. People couldn’t shake the feeling that something big was about to go down, and they had no clue what it was.

The elevator doors slid open.
