I’d known about Carter and Gianna’s plan all along.
They’d bribed a server to spike the drinks–but they didn’t know the entire hotel belonged to my family.
The staff member they’d approached reported it to me right away.
I told him to play along.
We swapped the spiked drinks and gave them to Carter and Gianna instead.
And now, Carter’s buddies–who’d been so smug just moments ago–looked like they’d seen a ghost.
They hadn’t been able to stop anything. Carter and Gianna were already all over each other.
As they shifted, Gianna’s face came into view.
People in the ballroom started whispering.
“Wait, she looks familiar. Isn’t her name, like, Gianna or something?”
“Yeah, yeah–and I think her date was Mason-”
She stopped mid–sentence.
But everyone had already figured it out.
Some guys who didn’t like Carter spoke up, purposely raising their voices.
“Yo, is that Carter Westbrook? I’m pretty sure he was wearing a navy suit today.”
His friend chimed in:
“Aren’t those his boys over there? Just ask them.”
“Hey! Where’s Carter? Wasn’t he with you guys a second ago?”
With all eyes on them, Carter’s crew looked like they wanted to crawl into a hole.
One of them suddenly perked up.
“Carter had to step out for a sec. Nothing to see here, guys. We’ll get these two out of here right now.”
I cut in.
“Why the rush? Just call Carter. That’ll clear things up, right?”
Someone dialed his number right away.
A second later, a ringtone started playing.
And the sound was coming from the pants pocket of the guy on top of Gianna.

Chapter 5
As the cheerful melody echoed through the ballroom, Carter kept thrusting, the scene absolutely horrifying.
People around us whipped out their phones, recording everything.
This was too good not to capture.
The Westbrook heir hooking up at a charity gala?
That was breaking news. Media outlets would kill for this footage.
With a little nudging from me, the bigwigs upstairs–including the city’s most powerful figures–heard about the chaos and came down to see for
themselves.
And Vincent Westbrook was among them.
Just as the crowd was about to arrive, I gave a subtle signal.
A server standing nearby dumped a bucket of ice water over Carter.
The shock of the cold made him freeze.
His expression was dazed–he clearly wasn’t fully conscious yet.
A second later, someone yanked him to his feet.
Vincent pulled back and slapped him hard across the face.
Carter’s lip split, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
But the hit did the trick–his eyes finally cleared.
Seeing the destruction around him, Carter scrambled to pull his clothes back on.
When he saw the murderous look on his father’s face, he knew he was screwed.
“Dad-”
“Don’t call me that!”
Vincent was shaking with rage. “Did you lost your mind?! You’ve humiliated me in front of everyone!”
“No–Dad–I was drugged! Someone drugged me!”
He looked around wildly, and then his eyes locked on me.
He pointed at me, his face twisted with hate.
“Dad, it was that bitch! She drugged me!”
“She’s a gold–digging whore! I dumped her, and now she’s out for revenge!”
“Dad, have your guys grab her–don’t let her get away–I’m gonna sell her to a whorehouse where she’ll get passed around by every guy there!”
Slap! Slap!
The moment he finished, Vincent backhanded him twice.
