“Police! Don’t move!”

“Pull your pants up!”

“Hands behind your head!”

The door was smashed open as several SWAT officers burst in.

Black gun barrels pointed straight at Holden.

Holden panicked, but he was still putting on a show.

“Officers! This is a misunderstanding! She’s my fiancée! We were playing around! This is a private matter between us!”

Then he pointed at me. “Look, SHE cut herself with that glass! This woman has self–harm issues! I was trying to stop her!”

The lead officer glanced at Holden, then looked at me huddled in the corner–clothes torn, covered in cold sweat, blood streaming down my neck.

“Whether it’s private or not, we’ll sort that out at the station.”

“Take him.”

Two officers moved forward and restrained Holden as he struggled wildly.

“Let me go! I’m Holden Chase! My dad is Harold Chase! You dare arrest me?”

“I want to call my lawyer!”

“Sutton Law! Say something! Tell them we were just playing around!”

I slowly stood up and dropped the glass shard from my hand.

“I don’t know him.”

“He attempted to force sexual relations, he’s suspected of organizing group sexual activities, and also illegally possessing date rape drugs.”

Holden’s eyes nearly bulged out of his head.

“You’re lying! When the hell did I have drugs? That was fucking wine!”

I pointed downstairs.

“Whatever was in that wine, I think Jade’s current state is the best evidence.”

Holden froze. The cops froze too.

Because next second, from downstairs, came heart wrenching screams.

The officers dragged Holden downstairs while I was supported by a female officer as we made our way down..

The living room was chaos.

All the men and women were controlled against the wall except for Jade.

Now she was strapped to a stretcher with restraints.

Her whole body convulsing, foam coming from her mouth, eyes rolled back.

She made guttural sounds while her skin was torn bloody from her own scratching.

That was the reaction to a drug overdose.

Seeing this, Holden’s legs instantly gave out.

He stared at Jade in disbelief.

“What… what’s happening? I only added a little bit… How could this happen?”

I looked at him coldly.

“A little bit? New synthetic date rape drug with hallucinogenic effects ten times stronger than regular controlled substances.”

“According to law, participating in smuggling, selling, transporting, or manufacturing–regardless of quantity–carries criminal liability.”

“Holden Chase, you’re done.”

Holden whipped around to look at me.

“It was you!”

“You splashed it on her face! You did this to her! You fucking destroyed me!”

Suddenly, he lunged at me, trying to bite,

But the officers faster.

They slammed him to the ground with his face pressed against the cold floor.

Yet he was still screaming:

“Sutton Law! I’m gonna kill you! I’ll make your whole family pay!”

I just pulled out my phone–the screen was cracked, but it could still record.

“Threatening a witness in front of police officers. Add it to the charges.”

“Take him away!”

At the officer’s command, all suspects were loaded into police cars.

As Leo passed me, his eyes redden, even pissed himself.

“Sutton! No! Attorney Law!”

“I was forced! Holden forced me to come! I didn’t do anything! I’ll testify! I have videos! I have evidence!”

I looked at Leo’s pathetic face.

“Save it for the station then.”

Leo was shoved into the car.

I stood at the villa entrance watching the flashing police lights.

Took a deep breath. The battle had only just begun.
