Nathan snapped out of it. Right. Why is Elena here?

For the past two days, she had ignored his calls, stayed away from home, and now she was sitting in a couples restaurant with another man.

Anger flared instantly.

Nathan grabbed Elena’s arm, his grip so tight it almost crushed her wrist.

“You disappeared on me for days, and this is where you’ve been, having dinner with some guy, what do you have to say for yourself?”

‘Let go!” Elena struggled hard.

Nathan was furious, his grip unyielding.

You can sit here with Camille, but I can’t sit here with someone else?”

She shot back.

Nathan answered like it was obvious, “I’m a man, and Camille and I go way back.”

Elena felt sick. How could he say something like that so casually?

A surge of anger rose in her chest. She almost exposed everything between him and Camille, just as she was about to speak.

A voice laced with sarcasm came from behind. It was Alexander.

Elena looked up. Alexander walked over with one hand in his pocket, his sharp features carrying a faint nocking smile. “Putting your hands on a woman, that’s quite a family tradition you’ve got there.”

Nathan clenched his jaw.

With Alexander, his jealousy outweighed any caution. His voice tightened, “I’m talking to my wife, that’s none of your business, is it?”

‘Elena is my guest”

Alexander had already reached her side. His calm eyes locked onto Nathan “Show some respect to my guest.”

Nathan and Camille both froze, their expressions slipping as they looked back and forth between Elena and Alexander.

Nathan finally let go. But his emotions were still out of control.

“Elena, what exactly is your relationship with him? Don’t tell me your interview somehow turned into meeting at a couples restaurant?”

The sight of Elena standing next to Alexander was unbearable.

Especially when Alexander stepped forward, subtly shielding most of Elena behind him. Like he was claiming her.

Nathan felt like something that belonged to him was being taken away.

“And what about you and Camille? What right do you have to question me?”

Elena had been upset moments ago.

Now she almost laughed. Alexander’s mother might not like her, but she was clearly more protective than Victoria.

For that alone, Elena found it hard to dislike her. Nathan had already guessed Evelyn’s identity.

“Mrs. Kingsley, this is between me and my wife, I don’t think an outsider needs to comment”

He still carried his pride.

Evelyn gave Nathan another look, silently comparing him to her son. Looks, not impressive. Presence, lacking Character and manners, even worse.

“I asked Elena to meet me here to talk about something personal. I chose this place on purpose. My son came to pick me up. What’s the problem? Evelyn said smoothly.

Elena was genuinely surprised. She hadn’t expected Evelyn to cover for her.

“Really?” Nathan was skeptical.

Camille looked doubtful too.

Evelyn said, “What, do you think I’d let my son date a married woman?
