Grandma Bernice had never seen pictures of Lizetta from the past. She cherished the sight, immediately comparing it to her own youthful photo.
That innocent charm, the posture, the smile—they were exactly the same. Even their facial features looked like they belonged to the same person.
Her eyes widened in shock, and she looked up at Remington with delighted surprise.
"See? I wasn't lying."
"The resemblance is uncanny! Do you have any more old photos of Liz? Can I see them?"
Thrilled and emotional, she politely asked for his permission.
Remington smiled. "Of course. Let me tell you..."
He took the phone back and began swiping through the old pictures, narrating as he went.
Half an hour later, when Lizetta and Jerome followed Grandpa Nelson through the office doors, the first thing they heard was Grandma Bernice's laughter.
Lizetta had been a little worried that Remington and her grandmother might butt heads. To her surprise, they were sitting close together on the sofa.
Whatever they were talking about, both of them were beaming.
She blinked in shock, while Grandpa Nelson's face instantly darkened.
Good grief. He had only taken his eyes off them for a moment, and this Remington brat was already trying to sweet-talk his wife away?
"What's all this chatter about?"
Nelson demanded in a low voice, marching over.
Hearing the question, Remington turned around. Seeing the older man approach, he stood up.
Before he could say a word, Grandma Bernice waved excitedly at her husband.
"Come look! Our Liz was so beautiful and adorable when she was little!"
Just like his wife, Nelson had never seen Lizetta as a child either.
At her words, he completely forgot he was supposed to be angry. Abandoning all his principles, he walked over, took his wife's spot, and huddled with her to look at Remington's phone.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
