Remington leaned in, closing the distance between him and Lizetta.
"Hear that? Jerome doesn't mind. Let's continue."
Jerome was speechless.
Lizetta was also a bit at a loss for words. Just as she was about to say something, Nelson glanced over from the sofa.
The old man's gaze shot straight to their tightly intertwined hands.
He had noticed it earlier in the conference room—this punk had brazenly held his granddaughter's hand.
And now he dared to get handsy right in front of him.
Nelson coughed loudly. Lizetta looked over, and the moment she met her grandfather's eyes, panic set in.
She yanked her hand back forcefully. Remington didn't want to let go, but fearing he might hurt her, he reluctantly opened his grip.
She quickly hid her hands behind her back, looking the picture of innocence.
Nelson looked mildly satisfied. His gaze shifted upward as he addressed Remington.
"Thank you for your help this time, Mr. Dashiell. You saved Liz and escorted her back safely. The Madden family is incredibly grateful, but we shouldn't take up any more of your time. I've already arranged a flight path. My private jet will take you back to Zion City in an hour, so you can get some proper rest on the way."
Having said that, he turned to Jerome and ordered.
"Jerome, see Mr. Dashiell off personally."
Remington's expression shifted slightly. He hadn't expected Nelson to be so ruthless, kicking him out without giving him a single second to linger.
"Understood, Grandpa," Jerome replied.
Remington shot a look at Jerome, hoping he would object or at least put in a good word for him.
Bottom line: he refused to let them be together.
Lizetta loved dancing. Even though she had been working at the media company recently, she had never abandoned her art.
She knew she wasn't cut out for business.
The Madden Group was in perfectly good hands with Jerome. Rather than fighting for management rights, she simply wanted to pursue her dreams.
She and Nelson had discussed this before, and she had made her intentions clear.
Deep down, Nelson had wanted his granddaughter to come back and inherit everything. At the time, he had only said he would think about it.
Later, he compromised, saying that even if she didn't run the conglomerate, she still needed to understand how it worked, suggesting she pick a subsidiary to gain some experience.
Back then, Lizetta had been entirely focused on investigating Joy's situation. She also knew that her mother had founded Madden Media, which had been under Eartha's control all these years.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
