Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1165

So, she had chosen to head to Zion City and join Madden Media.

First, to continue investigating Joy's situation. Second, to fulfill her grandfather's wishes. And third, to gauge Eartha's reaction.

It was killing three birds with one stone.

Now that Nelson was offering to send her abroad to study dance, it was clear he had finally come around and was willing to support her dreams.

Lizetta was thrilled. She immediately broke into a smile.

"You said it yourself, Grandpa. No taking it back."

Before Nelson could respond, Lizetta felt a burning, aggrieved gaze boring into her from the man standing beside her.

She turned her head and met Remington's slightly hurt eyes. A wave of guilt washed over her.

It finally dawned on her that her grandfather's words had been a deliberate strike at Remington, an absolute refusal to let them be together.

And there she was, celebrating. Did she look like a little traitor to him?

She blinked at him, as if silently begging for mercy.

He felt a surge of helplessness and merely arched an eyebrow at her.

Nelson watched them exchange flirty glances right in front of him and felt a headache coming on.

He pulled Grandma Bernice up, handed the phone back to Remington, and said.

"Keep a close eye on your belongings, Mr. Dashiell."

Did this guy really think showing a few old photos of Lizetta to subtly brag about their deep, shared history would work?

If he thought that would make him agree to let this bastard get back together with his granddaughter, he was dreaming.

Remington didn't push back. He took the phone with a respectful nod.

Nelson felt like he had punched a pile of cotton. Annoyed, he shifted his gaze and caught Lizetta standing nearby, pretending to casually fix her hair.
