The more Ray thought about it, the more plausible it felt. He was practically vibrating with adrenaline.
"Boss, that has to be it! There is no bigger bargaining chip than that! When Eartha bribed the warden to release Hans, her plan was to use him as a weapon. While Hans was making his move that night, Eartha was definitely watching from the shadows. Swapping the baby right under our noses would have been child's play for her! She must have planned it from the start as her ultimate insurance policy!"
Ray smacked his fist into his palm. "And the surgeon who operated on the missus—the one who fled the country! With our network, we should have hunted her down months ago, but she completely vanished. We always assumed the West family had some underground smuggling route, but what if we were wrong? What if Eartha was the one who smuggled her out? That's why we've been chasing ghosts on the West family's trail for half a year!"
Ray rambled on in frantic excitement before finally noticing that Remington was deathly silent.
Ray's voice faded, suddenly gripped by anxiety.
If the young master was alive, the boss should have been ecstatic.
No one knew better than Ray how deeply the tragedy had traumatized him. Remington had carried an unbearable weight of grief and self-loathing.
When the baby died, Remington had buried him with his own hands. Lizetta had fled Zion City, and in just two weeks, the boss had dropped twenty pounds.
He had suffered through endless, sleepless nights. Now that there was a ray of hope, shouldn't he be even more thrilled than Ray?
Was the theory completely wrong?
If so, he had just fed his boss a massive delusion, dragging him right back through the darkest days of his life.
Just as Ray was mentally preparing to drop to his knees and beg for forgiveness, Remington finally spoke, his voice hoarse and rough.
"Watch this video."

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
