So, burying her overwhelming affection and heartache, she let a few delicate tears slip and reached out to hug his waist. But Dante suddenly stood up.
"I'm going to the restroom."
Stumbling slightly, Dante made his way to the men's room. Just as he finished his business and turned toward the sink to wash his hands, a suit jacket was violently thrown over his head. A split second later, a brutal punch slammed into his back.
The hit was catastrophic, showing absolutely no mercy. Already dizzy and unsteady on his feet from the alcohol, the sheer force of the blow sent Dante crashing hard onto the tile floor.
Before he could even try to get up, two savage kicks slammed into him. With the jacket suffocating him and blocking his vision, all he could hear was the ragged, furious breathing of his attacker.
Raymond landed several more vicious hits on him but still didn't feel satisfied. However, this was a private club, and someone could walk into the restroom at any moment. Frustrated, he had no choice but to walk away.
Caleb had walked in the second Raymond started throwing punches. At this point, shocked didn't even begin to cover it. Seeing Dante struggling to rip the jacket off his head, Caleb quickly rushed after his boss and slipped into the elevator.
He had reacted flawlessly, already alerting the club's staff to take care of the security footage.
Inside the elevator, Raymond stared icily at the descending floor numbers.
His chest heaved up and down, a clear sign that his murderous rage hadn't subsided.
Staring at the sharp, ruthless line of Raymond's jaw, Caleb genuinely felt a spike of fear. It had been years since he had seen his boss lose control like this.
Raymond was notoriously calm, composed, and ruthlessly calculated. Even when tearing his corporate rivals to shreds, he usually did it with a faint, detached smirk.
What on earth triggered this today?
"Boss, what did Mr. Hayes do to piss you off? Was it really worth getting your hands dirty?"
In his head, he silently added, For God's sake, he's technically your nephew! Don't you think you went a little too hard on him?
Raymond's voice was devoid of all warmth. "He's had that coming for a long time."
Caleb looked at him. Raymond looked like a demon fresh out of hell. The aura of sheer violence radiating off him was so terrifying it made Caleb's blood run cold.
Raymond's lips barely moved as he delivered a flat, "No."
Caleb knew it. His boss's relationship with the old man was nowhere near fixed yet.
"Then why are we going to the hospital at this hour?"
Raymond leaned his head back against the seat and closed his eyes, refusing to say another word.
Seeing that his boss was done talking, Caleb just shrugged.
Whatever, it was better not to ask. His boss was in a foul mood today. Pissing him off would only end in a disaster for himself.
Back at The Apex Lounge, Dante stood in the VIP room, staring coldly at the manager.
"Are you telling me that every single camera in this club conveniently malfunctioned at the exact same time?"
