Dante had drunk heavily the night before. When he woke up, his head was still spinning in waves.
Pressing a hand to his forehead, he realized he was in an unfamiliar room, lying on an unfamiliar bed.
Vivienne was standing by the bedside, watching him.
"Dante, you're awake? Does your head still hurt?"
She was wearing a sheer, revealing slip dress. He caught a glimpse from the corner of his eye and immediately looked away.
"Why am I here?" he asked coldly.
"You were so drunk last night, and the others had way too much too. I brought you back to my apartment."
Dante began buttoning his shirt, keeping his eyes lowered.
"Go put some clothes on."
Vivienne glanced down at her nightgown, assuming the seductive look had piqued his interest, and a smile touched her lips.
"Do you think I look beautiful like this, Dante?"
She stepped forward boldly, wrapping her arms around his neck and trying to press her chest against him.
Dante gently but firmly removed her hands. He had slept in his slacks, and he casually tucked his shirt in, instantly regaining his usual aloof elegance.
He was a fastidious man, and the stale smell of alcohol clinging to his clothes was unbearable.
He called his assistant. "Have a fresh suit brought to the office later."
Hanging up, he noticed her disappointed expression. "Aren't you supposed to attend the launch event today?" he asked flatly.
Just a moment ago, Vivienne had thought him unromantic, but hearing him remember her competition lifted her spirits.
"Yes! Will you come with me, Dante?"
Looking at her, his mind suddenly flashed to how fiercely Quinn had bitten him last night, how she had shoved him away in absolute disgust, and the hateful words she had thrown at him.
He closed his eyes in frustration before rejecting Vivienne. "No. I have a meeting later."
Though disappointed, she always played the role of the sweet, understanding woman around him.
She smiled. "Alright, work is more important. You can just come watch the actual competition."
She hadn't posted anything about him staying over.
Yet, he remembered Quinn telling him she constantly saw him looking cozy with Vivienne on her social media.
He issued a stern warning. "Every word and action of mine represents the Hayes family and the corporation. From now on, do not post me on your social media. I won't tolerate any negative fallout."
Vivienne went pale, her fingers turning icy.
She was just thankful she had deleted the photo and post in time. If he had seen it, she dreaded to think of his wrath.
She didn't dare try to flirt with him now, simply nodding obediently. "I understand, Dante."
Without lingering another second, he turned and strode out of the apartment.
His driver had been waiting in the car all night and sat up straight when he saw him.
"Mr. Hayes, straight to the office?"
"Yeah."
The car pulled out of the complex and merged onto the main road.
