She felt immensely grateful she had kept it a secret, saving herself from endless awkwardness and unnecessary drama.

Since she had a bit too much to drink, Quinn was debating whether to call a designated driver when Raymond called.

"Are you almost done?"

Assuming he was just checking in, she answered, "Yeah, wrapping up now. Is Leo asleep?"

"I'm in the underground parking garage. Come down when you're ready."

Quinn was stunned he had actually come to pick her up. It took her a few seconds to process it before agreeing and hanging up.

A little while later, the entire studio team exited the room together. While waiting for the elevator, fate played a cruel joke as they bumped into Dante and Vivienne once again.

Quinn refused to look at him, but Dante's dark, predatory gaze was locked onto her.

His eyes drifted unconsciously to her bruised, swollen lips.

The doors slid open. Quinn and her seven team members filed in, making the car quite cramped.

She was just about to hit the close button when Dante's long legs strode right in. He turned to Vivienne, who was trying to follow, and said smoothly, "It's too packed in here. You take the next one. I'll wait for you in the basement."

With that, his towering figure settled right beside Quinn.

Vivienne seethed with jealousy seeing them stand together, but Dante had specifically said he was worried about her getting crushed. Quinn certainly wasn't getting that kind of protective treatment.

Thinking about how Dante's cold exterior always melted into gentle consideration for her, Vivienne's heart swelled with smug satisfaction.

She offered him a sweet, coquettish smile. "You better wait for me, okay?"

The doors slid shut.

The confined space instantly plummeted in temperature, suffocated by the terrifying, oppressive aura radiating from Dante. It was an instinctual dominance that made everyone's nerves pull taut.

The studio staff, who had been laughing and chatting just moments before, suddenly felt the words die in their throats. They snapped their mouths shut, too scared to breathe.

For a long moment, the only sound was the low mechanical hum of the descending elevator.
