"I left my phone on the third-floor balcony. I'm too tired to climb the stairs again. Could you please go grab it for me?"

Raymond headed upstairs, leaving Quinn to wander over to the floor-to-ceiling windows and lose herself in the stunning view.

"That was fast..."

Hearing footsteps behind her, she assumed Raymond had returned. But when she turned around, she was met with Dante's dark, brooding face.

"What are you doing here?" The smile vanished from Quinn's face in an instant.

Dante surveyed the newly renovated space before locking eyes with her, his expression growing even more thunderous.

"You seem thrilled to have bought this place."

Quinn replied coldly, "Of course I am. I negotiated a great price on my own merit and bought it outright. Does that bother you, Mr. Hayes?"

"On your own merit?"

Dante chewed on the words, his tone dripping with sarcasm and anger.

"Do you have any idea that I offered twenty million dollars for this property?"

"So tell me, who actually has more merit between the two of us?"

"The owner turned down twenty million to accept your six point five. Did he lose his mind?"

Dante's chest felt incredibly tight. He had the funds ready and sent negotiators multiple times, yet the seller refused to budge, even throwing up a smokescreen about municipal redevelopment.

"Dante, you've got to be kidding me. If you genuinely offered twenty million, why wouldn't he sell it to you?"

Quinn didn't believe a word of it. The idea that someone would pass on a massive payday to sell to her for a fraction of the price made absolutely zero sense.

Wanting to preserve her good mood, she turned to leave, but Dante immediately seized her wrist.

"So you really don't find it suspicious?" Dante stared at her, his expression dead serious. "Someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes. They orchestrated this entire thing!"

Seeing that he wasn't joking, Quinn felt a momentary flicker of confusion. However, she despised his touch and forcefully yanked her arm free.

"Keep your paranoia to yourself. Even if someone had an ulterior motive, I got what I wanted. This is my property, so get out!"

Dante stepped forward to argue further, but Raymond was already descending the stairs with Quinn's phone in hand.
