"Still no," the man said, his tone hard and brokering no argument.
"Just a sip."
He frowned. "This hits harder than wine. You'll get dizzy if you keep going."
Watching the two of them, Tara couldn't help but laugh out loud, dragging out her words in a teasing drawl.
"Mr. Moretti, I'd like to ask... do you have any colleagues who take care of their employers as meticulously as you do? So detail-oriented and thoughtful. I'd love to hire one for myself."
Raymond's expression remained indifferent as he coldly spat out two words: "No others."
Tara dramatically sighed, feigning a look of deep regret. "Well, that's a damn shame. I guess a bodyguard as attentive and reliable as you is a totally limited edition."
Hearing Tara's teasing, the tips of Quinn's ears burned hot. She instinctively pulled her hand back from the champagne bottle.
Feeling awkward, she stole a quick glance at Raymond's face.
It seemed she needed to find a time to tell Tara about Raymond's particular preferences, so she would stop making these kinds of jokes.
Having finished his kids' meal, Leo scurried over on his short little legs and grabbed Tara's hand with his soft, chubby fingers.
He tilted his fair, squishy face up and demanded in a sweet, milky voice, "Godmommy, toy. Toy..."
While Quinn was still confused, Tara instantly remembered. When they first entered the building, there was a massive toy store on the first floor, and the little guy had stared longingly at a Transformers action figure.
This kid was way too smart. He knew she loved spoiling him with toys, so he immediately zeroed in on her to beg for it.
She burst out laughing and looked at Lydia. "Come downstairs with me. If my godson wants something, I'm absolutely buying it for him."
Quinn tried to intervene softly, "Tara, you don't have to. Stop spoiling him."
