Dante's footsteps halted just as he was about to head upstairs.
His sudden stop caused Vivienne, who was following closely behind, to nearly crash into his back.
"What did you just say?"
Dante turned around, his expression turning cold as he looked at Vivienne.
Vivienne naturally refused to let him go up. Quinn was far too seductive. What if Dante went upstairs and she used the excuse of changing clothes to seduce him again?
The mere thought of their intimate moment in the bathroom last night made Vivienne pale.
She clenched her hand at her side, a suffocating wave of jealousy washing over her.
"I mean, it's really not appropriate for you to go up and help Quinn change, because the two of you have already gotten your..."
"Vivienne."
Mrs. Hayes walked over at that moment, a gentle smile plastered on her face.
"Samuel also invited Yasmine. It's getting late, why hasn't she arrived yet? Hurry and give her a call to see where she is."
Though Mrs. Hayes was smiling, Vivienne caught the sharp warning in her eyes.
"Okay, I'll call her right now."
No matter how unwilling she felt, Vivienne could only step aside and symbolically pull out her phone to call Yasmine.
Mrs. Hayes looked away, steadying her nerves before smiling at Dante. "Hurry up and check on your wife. She's been up there for so long, what is she doing?"
The words Vivienne had nearly blurted out in a panic, combined with his mother's forced composure, were like a stone tossed into a calm lake, momentarily disrupting Dante's peace of mind.
Dante had always been remarkably perceptive. He narrowed his eyes at his mother.
"Mom, are you and Vivienne keeping something from me?"
"What are you imagining?" Mrs. Hayes refused to let a single flaw show in her facade. "The girl saw you going up to find Quinn and got anxious out of jealousy."
