"So why did he suddenly get so entangled with Vivienne?"

Parker thought back carefully. "If I remember right, it was after that accident on the frozen lake. That's when everything changed."

Julian smacked his forehead. "Now that you mention it, you're right."

"They say a near-death experience can drastically alter someone's personality. Is that what happened to Dante?"

Parker tapped the rim of his glass and shook his head. "I don't think it's that simple."

"Vivienne always had a thing for Dante, but he was always completely indifferent to her. His eyes were only ever for Quinn."

"But after that accident, he suddenly started indulging Vivienne's every whim, and a wedge started growing between him and Quinn."

"So now that the divorce is finalized, do you think he'll actually marry Vivienne? Mrs. Hayes definitely favors her."

"How should I know? We can't predict this kind of mess. It all depends on what's really in Dante's heart."

"Yeah. When he gets back, we need to talk him down. He can't drink anymore."

"And what if we can't stop him?"

"What are you waiting for? Start watering down the liquor."

As Parker spoke, he unscrewed a bottle of mineral water and started pouring it into the liquor bottle.

They stayed until the early hours of the morning, eventually wresting the glass right out of Dante's hand.
