His brain short-circuited, entirely convinced it was Quinn.

"Quinn... I feel awful."

His tone was uncharacteristically vulnerable, almost pleading for her comfort.

Soon after, someone gently fed him the hot broth. It tasted exactly like the one Quinn used to make.

He tilted his head back with great effort, swallowing the remedy. "Quinn, thank God for your broth. Thanks for taking care of me."

But the voice that replied was laced with a weary sigh.

"Sir, it's me."

In the past, whenever Quinn prepared this for Dante, Martha had watched closely, eventually learning the recipe so she could make it for him herself.

Hearing Martha's voice sent a violent shock through Dante's body, ripping him back to reality.
