She shot him a flat, unimpressed look. "Excuse me. You're blocking my juice."
When he refused to move, she simply reached around his waist, grabbed the glass, and took a long sip.
The sweet, ice-cold juice was exactly what she needed.
"Things are not what you think they are."
To Dante, Quinn's sarcastic remarks sounded incredibly bitter. He stared at her with a heavy frown. "If you seriously think I'm having an affair with her, you can come with me to the hospital and see for yourself."
Quinn nearly choked on her juice.
She swallowed hard, fighting the urge to roll her eyes into the back of her skull. "Dante, I never realized until recently that the head on your shoulders is just a decorative ornament to make you look taller."
"If you want to dote on your precious first love, go do it. That is entirely your business."
"I don't owe that woman a damn thing. Why on earth would I visit her?"
Unable to stomach another second of his presence, Quinn grabbed her glass and relocated to a completely different table.
Dante stood frozen, watching his wife treat him with blatant disgust. A suffocating wave of anger and panic crashed over him.
In the past, she would have clung to him, desperate for his attention. Now, she looked at him like he was a disease. The drastic shift violently unbalanced his ego.
But he couldn't afford a meltdown in the middle of his own public listing. Suppressing his temper, Dante turned on his heel and strode toward a group of crucial investors.
With Dante finally gone, Quinn enjoyed a moment of perfect peace, happily sipping her juice.
"Long time no see, Quinn."
