Brimming with absolute confidence that he would win Quinn back, Dante delivered his final provocation before turning on his heel and striding into the Hayes estate.

Raymond watched Dante's retreating figure, pulled off his sunglasses, and tossed them onto the passenger seat.

His pitch-black eyes were terrifyingly dark.

As soon as Dante reached the front courtyard, the butler called out to him.

"Sir, she's waiting for you in the garden."

Old Mrs. Hayes was still sitting in the gazebo, with Yara standing by to pour tea and serve pastries.

"Are you too hot, Madam? Should I wheel you back inside?"

"There's a nice breeze today, so it's not hot at all. It's refreshing out here, and the air is much better."

Given her frail health, old Mrs. Hayes could neither withstand extreme cold nor heat. Afraid of letting her overheat, Yara held a hand fan, fanning her intermittently.

"There's no need for that, dear. We aren't in the dark ages anymore. You don't need to wait on me like that."

Yara chuckled. "Oh, Madam, I'm just fanning you a little. It's not tiring."

The elderly woman's eyes crinkled with warm amusement. But the absolute second she spotted Dante, her smile vanished, instantly replaced by fierce anger.

"Instead of bringing Quinn and Leo home this morning or going to the office, where exactly did you run off to?"

Sensing her displeasure, Dante tried to brush it off.

"I had some business to handle and had to step out."

"What business? Don't think I don't know you went to the hospital to see Vivienne Ambrose!"

Her face contorted with immense disappointment. "How many times have I told you? You are a married man. You need to establish boundaries with other women. How are you still tangled up with her?"

Fearing she might get too agitated, Dante approached and replied gently, "Grandma, Vivienne got hurt because of me. I can't just abandon her, can I?"

Old Mrs. Hayes had already heard the story of Vivienne taking the hit from the champagne tower. To her, Vivienne's petty little tricks were entirely transparent.
