"You've got a lot of nerve, Raymond!" Dante snarled.

"You're just a lowly bodyguard. You take a paycheck, yet you dare to covet your employer. Do you really think you're worthy?"

The arrogant, high-and-mighty Dante from earlier that morning was gone, leaving behind only crushed pride and burning jealousy.

Raymond's dark eyes remained calm beneath his sunglasses as he slightly parted his lips.

"Whether I'm worthy or not, she's my wife now. It's none of your business."

Without giving Dante another chance to lash out, he grabbed Quinn's hand and led her to the car.

Dante watched the vehicle speed away, eventually disappearing around the bend of the highway. His fists were clenched so tightly by his sides they nearly shattered.

About ten minutes into the drive, little Leo drifted off to sleep. Quinn held him close, turning her head to gaze out the window. The sunlight filtered through the dense leaves of the towering trees, casting dappled shadows over her face.

She was lost in thought when Raymond spoke up from the driver's seat. "Why did you suddenly announce our marriage?"

Quinn answered plainly. "Even if I didn't say anything, his lawyers would have found out soon enough. Rather than hiding it, I figured it was better to just tell him outright."

"Maybe once he realizes I'm already married, he won't bother trying to sue to invalidate the divorce."

Raymond kept his eyes on the road, his gaze turning somber.

She still didn't understand men, especially a man who was completely enraged and consumed by jealousy.

Dante wouldn't give up that easily.

"What? You got remarried?"

"And to Raymond?"

Tara Moore stared at Quinn from the opposite end of the couch in absolute disbelief.

"Keep your voice down, Tara," Quinn shushed her. "You're going to wake up Leo. He's napping upstairs."

Tara lowered her volume, but her eyes still darted back and forth in pure shock.
