"Don't worry, Quinn. I'll help you find a lawyer as soon as possible. If Dante thinks he can make us cave, he's out of his mind."

"Thank you, Tara."

"It's getting late, so I'm going to head out. Call me if you need anything."

"Goodbye, Mr. Moretti."

The teasing, ambiguous smirk Tara shot him before leaving made Raymond feel slightly unsettled.

After walking Tara to the door, Quinn came back inside and nearly slammed straight into a solid wall of muscle.

"Raymond, why are you just standing there?"

He had startled her.

Raymond looked down, his sharp dark eyes locking onto the woman's luminous, beautiful face.

"What were you two whispering about while I was on the phone?"

The man's razor-sharp intuition told him they had definitely been talking about him behind his back.

His gaze was far too intense, causing Quinn's eyes to dart away nervously.

Please. She and Tara had just been gossiping about him. There was no way she could let him know that.

"You're being too sensitive. We weren't talking about you at all."

"Quinn."

Raymond suddenly leaned in, his chiseled face moving incredibly close to hers. He was so close she could feel the warmth of his breath brushing against her skin.

Quinn's heart immediately kicked into a frantic, erratic rhythm.

"Did you know that whenever you lie, you blink uncontrollably?"

Raymond stared at her fluttering eyelashes, feeling as though they were two delicate butterflies wings fluttering straight into his heart.

Was that a thing? Quinn desperately tried to force her eyelids to stay still.
