By the time his assistant, Silas Vance, arrived, two empty bottles were already rolling on the floor.
That was some incredibly strong liquor.
"Mr. Hayes, you can't drink anymore. Your body won't be able to handle it," Silas urged, rushing forward with a look of deep concern.
Dante kept his eyes cast downward, his long lashes throwing shadows over his cheeks. His voice was rough and slurred from the alcohol. "Go away. Leave me alone."
"If she leaves me, what was the point of all my hard work all these years?"
Dante had originally been sitting on the couch, but at some point, he had slid down and was now slumped on the floor.
Watching him in this state, Silas couldn't see a single trace of the majestic, authoritative CEO of the Hayes Group.
He helped Dante back onto the sofa and quickly gathered up the empty bottles from the floor.
But Dante was still barking orders. "Silas, get me another bottle."
When Silas didn't move, Dante flared up. "What, you don't listen to me anymore?"
Just then, Parker Preston and Julian Mercer walked through the door.
"Dante, are you seriously still drinking?"
Silas stood respectfully to the side, bracing himself against Dante's furious scowl. "I'm sorry, Mr. Hayes. I was afraid I couldn't stop you, so I called Mr. Preston and Mr. Mercer."
Silas was an incredibly loyal assistant. Not wanting him to catch Dante's wrath, Parker waved him off. "Thanks for your hard work, Silas. Julian and I will take it from here. You can go home."
Once Silas left, Parker and Julian walked over, taking seats on either side of Dante.
They easily spotted the empty liquor bottles in the trash can.
"If you keep throwing a tantrum like this, I'm calling your parents," Julian warned.
Dante shot Julian a venomous glare. "Get the hell out."
Julian had always been the type to tattle to people's parents since they were kids, but Dante was in no mood to curse him out properly.
