While she was lost in thought, Raymond walked over after helping move the heavy bolts of fabric.
"The materials are all stacked in the warehouse."
"Are you finally going to eat your breakfast now?"
Quinn's mind instantly flashed back to how she had thrown herself into his arms in the office, and her eyes darted away evasively.
"I got busy and completely forgot."
Raymond frowned. "Working for hours without eating breakfast is a fast track to low blood sugar."
Nearby, Sarah and Sophie let out an exaggerated "Aww!" Their eyes sparkled with undisguised gossip as they looked back and forth between Quinn and Raymond.
"Quinn, your bodyguard is so sweet!"
"Seriously, you're making the rest of us single girls jealous!"
Quinn shot them a playful glare. "Stop talking nonsense and get back to drafting the patterns."
Sarah reined in her laughter. "Go eat, Quinn! We've got things handled down here."
Quinn nodded, then turned back to Raymond. "Go pick up Leo, then take him back to Lunas Crest. I'm going to be working late for the next few nights, so I won't be home until after dark."
Raymond offered a slight nod. "Focus on your work."
With that, he turned and walked out of the studio.
After Quinn finished her breakfast, Mrs. Hunt called. Her voice carried a heavy note of anxiousness.
"Quinn, the ladies and I were just having coffee, and someone mentioned a rumor that your studio couldn't secure the right fabrics and wouldn't be able to deliver on time."
"My son's engagement party cannot be delayed. Tell me the truth—are the fourteen dresses I ordered going to be ready before the event?"
Mrs. Hunt had ordered custom pieces for eight bridesmaids, three for herself, and three for the mother-of-the-bride. It was an incredibly lucrative, high-stakes contract.
Quinn instantly knew Vivienne had planted the rumors to sabotage her. She smiled warmly to reassure her client.
"Please don't worry, Mrs. Hunt. I personally guarantee that the dresses will be delivered to your home perfectly on schedule, and the quality will be flawless!"
"But I'd ask you to keep my delivery guarantee quiet for now..."
Catching her drift, Mrs. Hunt eagerly agreed.
