Raymond walked down the stairs just in time to hear Quinn's conversation with Tara.
"Tara, I don't have a backup plan. No matter how hard Dante pushes, I have to find a lawyer."
Tara was anxious but felt entirely helpless. "My work in Harbor Heights won't be finished for a few more days."
"It's fine, I'll keep looking. If I can't find one in Riverton, I'll look in the neighboring cities. I refuse to believe Dante's reach extends everywhere."
"Okay, keep trying. Call me the second you need anything."
"I will."
Quinn hung up the phone and saw Raymond standing on the staircase, watching her.
"You're not asleep yet?"
Raymond nodded. "I was a little thirsty. Came down for water."
As he spoke, he descended the stairs. He had an incredible physique—broad shoulders and a narrow waist, built like a walking clothes hanger. Even just wearing a bathrobe, he looked like a male model strutting down a runway, making it utterly impossible to look away.
"Raymond, can I make a suggestion?"
"Go ahead."
He had already reached the dining room and casually poured himself a glass of water. The sharp lines of his jaw as he tilted his head back, coupled with the bobbing of his Adam's apple, were already seductive enough. Paired with the way the bathrobe hung off him, he was a lethal temptation.
Quinn cleared her throat slightly. "Could you... stop wearing bathrobes from now on?"
Raymond turned his head, giving her a genuinely perplexed look.
"Stop wearing them?"
"Do you think it's appropriate for me to just walk around naked?"
Quinn's eyes widened, and she hastily waved her hands in denial. "No, no, no! What I mean is, your bathrobe is too revealing. You could wear some normal loungewear. If you don't mind, I can even buy some for you."
Preferably something conservative. Something that covered absolutely everything.
Seeing him like this—with his chest exposed at the top and his long legs showing at the bottom—was honestly too much for her to handle.
Raymond glanced at her cartoon-print pajamas and gave a look of pure disdain.
"No thanks."
"Don't you think it's inappropriate to dress like that?"
Quinn was ready to argue with him, but the moment he set his glass down and turned fully toward her, her gaze was magnetically pulled to his exposed chest.
Catching where she was staring, a faint, mocking smirk touched his lips. "You seem to be enjoying the view just fine."
