Vivienne's eyes were red with tears, on the verge of a total breakdown. "Back then, you were entirely obsessed with Quinn. If I hadn't done it, how would you have ever noticed me?"
Dante finally stopped in his tracks.
He stared down at the hysterical woman, his dark eyes entirely devoid of emotion, leaving behind only an instinctual, physical disgust.
Just as she reached out to grab his sleeve, he stepped slightly to the side, dodging her touch as if she were something filthy.
His thin lips parted, and his voice lacked a single degree of warmth.
"Love me?"
He let out a dark scoff.
"Vivienne, you don't even deserve to say the word 'love.'"
"You lied to me. You put on an act for years, stepping over Quinn to steal the credit for saving my life. You used that fake debt to milk my guilt for eight straight years."
"That is greed. That is sheer malice. Do not taint the word 'love'!"
He lifted his gaze, his stare so heavy it felt like it could crush every last one of her disguises.
"Listen to me very carefully. Every bit of tolerance, care, and favoritism I ever showed you had absolutely nothing to do with love. I only felt like I owed you."
"Now that the truth is out, you are utterly worthless to me. You make me sick!"
Vivienne stiffened, tears streaming down her face in a frantic rush. "No, Dante, you can't be completely devoid of feelings for me. You're just angry right now, aren't you?"
Dante looked as though even glancing at her soiled his vision.
"Vivienne, from the very beginning, the only woman I've ever loved is Quinn."
"I will never forgive you. If you don't want to lose absolutely everything, do not ever let me see your face again!"
Vivienne turned ghostly pale, too terrified to take another step forward.
It was obvious Dante was threatening her career.
Though she had always been manipulative, she had genuinely poured her heart into her design work. Hearing him threaten her livelihood struck real fear into her heart.
Dante turned his head toward Silas, his tone absolute and unforgiving.
"Get her out of here."
"Starting today, all partnerships with the Ambrose family are terminated. No renewals, ever."
"And pull every single resource we've granted to Ambrose Couture."
