Halfway through dinner, Quinn pulled Tara out of the private room so they could walk to the restroom together.

Quinn's mind was brimming with doubts. Now that they were finally alone, she turned to Tara.

"A top-tier divorce attorney like Mr. Wycliffe should have his schedule completely booked. Ordinary people can't just hire him on a whim."

"How exactly did you manage to get in touch with him?"

Tara washed her hands and answered honestly.

"A few days ago in Harbor Heights, I went to a yacht party and hit it off with Adeline York, who runs a massive jewelry business."

"Mr. Wycliffe was the one who handled her divorce. You have no idea—her in-laws were an absolute nightmare. If it hadn't been for Mr. Wycliffe, she would never have gotten a clean divorce, let alone walked away with a colossal settlement."

"I was looking for a jewelry partnership anyway, so I approached Adeline under the guise of talking business. She was the one who introduced me to Mr. Wycliffe. He just happened to have an opening in his schedule, so he agreed to fly back to Riverton with me."

Easygoing as always, Tara flashed a look that screamed, 'It really is just that simple.'

But the simpler it sounded, the more suspicious Quinn became.

Quinn lowered her gaze as she washed her hands, a slight frown creasing her brow. "Is it really that much of a coincidence?"

Perhaps it was because she had spent the last few weeks desperately begging lawyers only to be rejected at every turn. Seeing Tara secure a legendary powerhouse like Wesley Wycliffe so effortlessly felt entirely surreal.

Tara never overthought things the way Quinn did. She happily looped her arm through Quinn's and laughed.

"Just admit you have explosive good luck! Even God wants you away from that bastard Dante as quickly as possible."

"Fate works in mysterious ways. Even I didn't expect a single party to solve your biggest headache."

Quinn turned off the faucet and walked down the corridor with Tara.

There were no such things as endless coincidences.

First, Gilded Muse Textiles expedited their premium fabrics straight to her studio. Now, the most unbookable elite lawyer from Harbor Heights practically fell into her lap.
