A moment later, another serious issue came to mind.
"I also heard you're demanding half of Dante's assets."
Mrs. Hayes looked at Quinn like she was a venomous snake. She didn't even try to hide her disgust and contempt.
"Do you realize how outrageous that demand is? You are asking for astronomical amounts!"
Mrs. Hayes tried to maintain her dignified, high-society persona, but the facade was slipping.
"Do you even comprehend what half of Dante's net worth looks like? Do you honestly think you deserve that?"
Dante was already soaring high on the Forbes billionaire list. With his new company going public, his ranking would only climb higher.
"What gives you the right to take so much of his money? Just because you were married for three years and gave birth to a child?"
To Mrs. Hayes, her son was the one working tirelessly to build his empire. Quinn hadn't contributed a single thing and was just trying to bleed him dry through the divorce.
Quinn took a sip of her coffee. Compared to Mrs. Hayes's fury, she looked utterly calm and unfazed.
"Mrs. Hayes, whether I deserve it or not isn't up to you. It's up to the law.
"Whatever the judge awards me, I will take."
Mrs. Hayes scoffed inwardly. She talked a big game. Everyone knew Wesley Wycliffe was a ruthless divorce attorney. A huge part of his formidable reputation came from his ability to secure massive asset divisions for his clients that other lawyers couldn't even dream of.
"The twenty million dollars and the Lunas Crest estate Dante promised you were already more than generous. You shouldn't be so greedy."
Quinn's lips curved into a slight smile. "I'm only asking for half of Dante's personal assets. I'm not touching his company shares or the Hayes family estate. Surely that's not an unreasonable request?"
Mrs. Hayes's expression remained dark.
"Half of his personal assets is still a fortune!"
