Surprisingly, Leo was still awake. The moment he heard them come in, his little legs carried him out of the living room and straight to the entryway.
He wrapped his arms around both of their legs.
"Mom, Raymond, why are you so late!"
Quinn crouched down, pulling her son into an apologetic hug.
"I'm sorry, baby. Mommy had a lot of work today, and then I took everyone from the studio out for dinner. That's why we're late."
Lydia walked over, adding, "Ms. Yates, Mr. Moretti."
"I kept telling Leo to go to bed, but he insisted on waiting for you two."
"It's fine," Raymond said, effortlessly scooping the little boy up into his arms. "I'll take him upstairs."
Leo rested his head obediently on Raymond's shoulder, waving a tiny hand back at Quinn.
"Goodnight, Mom. I'll go to sleep right after Raymond tells me a story."
"Goodnight!"
Quinn went to her room, showered, and blow-dried her hair. She was sitting at her vanity doing her skincare routine when a soft knock sounded at her door.
She walked over and opened it to find Raymond standing in the hallway.
He was dressed in a bathrobe, smelling of fresh, crisp soap. He had clearly just showered as well.
"Is Leo asleep?"
"Yeah. He was already exhausted. He dozed off halfway through the story."
Quinn stayed planted in the doorway, looking up to meet his dark, smoldering eyes.
"So, what do you need from me at this hour?"
Without warning, his arm wrapped tightly around her waist. The world spun for a second before they were inside the bedroom, the door kicked shut, and her back pressed firmly against the wood.
"Didn't I tell you?"
"I was going to come claim my reward properly tonight."
The man spoke deliberately close to her ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down her spine.
"I am a little curious about something, though."
"Tiffany is so young and gorgeous. Were you really not tempted at all?"
"That poor girl begged you so pitifully for a ride, and you didn't even show her an ounce of mercy. You basically made her cry."
Quinn teased him intentionally, wanting to test the waters.
