"Hmph!"

Old Mrs. Moretti let out a cold scoff. "From where I'm standing, it looks like you crawled over here purely to gloat."

"Dominic, does your wife know you're sleeping with a widow five years your senior? Honestly, you ignore your gorgeous wife at home to obsess over an ugly mistress. Is your brain rotting?"

"And you, Lawrence. Keeping a young model on the side and knocking her up with an illegitimate kid? Your wife is from The Chambers Family. Do you think they're an easy target? If she finds out, they'll skin you alive!"

Both brothers were paralyzed with horror. Not even their own wives knew about these filthy secrets, and they had arrogantly believed their tracks were covered. They never expected nothing escaped old Mrs. Moretti's eyes.

Then again, it made sense. Decades ago, when the company was on the brink of catastrophic bankruptcy, it was old Mrs. Moretti who stepped up, secured a vital partnership, and pulled the empire back from the edge of the abyss.

Even in her old age, her sharp wit and ruthless drive were leagues above ordinary people.

It was no surprise she had a stranglehold on every dirty secret the younger generation tried to hide.

Old Mrs. Moretti glared at her two grandsons in disgust. "You two are swimming in your own filth, yet you have the sheer audacity to stand here and point fingers at Ray's marriage?!"

That brutal takedown left both brothers flushing red and white. They hung their heads, not daring to utter a single word in retaliation.

Having thoroughly disciplined them, she turned her wrath onto Arthur, whose face was still ashen.

"And you!"

"Arthur Moretti! Since Ray was born, how much responsibility have you actually taken as a father? For twenty-one years, you gave him zero care or protection. You entirely missed his upbringing, leaving him to fend for himself out in the world. Did you ever ask how much he suffered in Harbor Heights and overseas?"

"It wasn't until you had one foot in the grave that you suddenly remembered him. Don't forget—you begged him to return. Do you honestly think he cares about this company?!"

"Are you seriously going to demand your child sacrifice his lifelong happiness just to buy this family a shred of 'face'?"

Pummeled by the matriarch's interrogation, Arthur's lips parted, but he was struck completely speechless. He wouldn't dare argue back.

"As far as I'm concerned, it's a miracle the boy finally found a girl he genuinely loves. We, as his elders, have absolutely no right to actively try and tear them apart."
