Zane smiled suavely. The wicked gleam in his eyes as he looked at Quinn was fleeting, almost impossible to catch.

"However, you've only been drinking juice since we sat down. Doesn't that show a lack of sincerity?"

Sarah immediately chimed in. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Kovic, but Quinn can't drink. I'll drink with you instead!"

But Zane wasn't satisfied. "I'm not asking for much, just one glass. Surely you wouldn't disrespect me like that, right, Quinn?"

Over at the other table, Raymond was peeling shrimp for Leo when Caleb leaned in and whispered in his ear.

"Boss, we have a situation."

"Ms. Yates is out at a business dinner tonight with her assistant. They're meeting with Zane Kovic, the new sales director for Skyloft Textiles. This guy has a reputation for getting handsy with female clients..."

"Where is she?"

"Right here, in Private Room 7."

Raymond's gaze turned instantly glacial. He wiped his hands clean and tossed a quick 'Watch Leo for me' to Luke before storming out of the room.

Caleb followed closely behind.

Seeing Raymond leave, little Leo tried to slide off his chair to follow, but Luke stopped him.

"Be a good boy, Leo. Things might get a little too violent for kids to watch."

He smoothly placed more food onto the boy's plate.

"Let's just focus on our dinner and leave the grown-up stuff to the adults."

Normally, Quinn wouldn't mind having a little wine, but Zane gave her a very strange vibe. He seemed polite on the surface, but there was something incredibly dark lurking underneath.

And the way he looked at her was like a cold, venomous snake—slimy and repulsive.

So, when he pushed the wine glass toward her again, she smiled and gently pushed it back.

"I apologize, Mr. Kovic. I'm actually allergic to alcohol. I really can't drink."

"I'm suddenly not feeling well, so my assistant and I are going to head back. We can discuss the partnership another day."

With that, she grabbed Sarah's arm and walked out of the private room without looking back.

Watching Quinn's retreating figure, Zane felt a fiery, scratching itch in his chest, his gaze growing increasingly vicious.
