The next morning, Quinn predictably woke up late.

Three alarms failed to pull her from her slumber.

By the time sheer willpower forced her heavy eyelids open, Raymond was already awake beside her.

The man's strong arm wrapped tightly around her. "If you're tired, take the morning off."

As he spoke, he gently nuzzled his chin against the top of her head.

"I can't."

Quinn gently pushed him away a little. "Ms. Ambrose is doing me a huge favor by teaching me her embroidery techniques. I can't let her down."

Even though she hadn't been studying under her for long, Quinn felt deeply indebted to Lorraine Ambrose for her guidance. She had to take it seriously; skipping was not an option.

Seeing Quinn prepare to head into the bathroom to change, Raymond made a move to get up as well.

"Then grab some breakfast before you go."

"No need, I'm already running late."

Quinn threw on her clothes and rushed out of the room in a flurry.

When she reached the courtyard, the owner of the bed and breakfast was outside watering the flowers.

Catching sight of her, the young woman quickly called out.

"Quinn! I packed breakfast for you. It's on the table; take it with you!"

Quinn glanced over and saw the takeout containers filled with tiramisu, boiled eggs, soy milk... an impressive spread.

She found it a bit strange. How did the owner know she would be in a rush today?

But in her haste, she didn't overthink it. She grabbed the bags, tossed a quick 'Thank you!', and bolted out the door.

Not long after Quinn left, Raymond brought little Leo downstairs.

The young woman flashed them a bright, sunny smile.
